S3 Flashing

sometimes when i try and start my 90 ls the S3 starts flashing and it will just keep turning over and wont start what could be the cause of this i posted up the other night but i guess it got deleted

i believe that its a transmission prob. one time that happened to me while i was driving, and i couldnt get it to shift to 3rd gear, supposedly its a solenoid in the transmission. i didnt do the repairing, i just sent it to my nearest aamco, turned out to be a little dirt in the valve body of the transmission

yeah the S3 flashing light means transmission problems…either bad or leak or something like that

:search:

Check your TCM
any time S3 flashes on start it is like your check engine light for your transmission

when dat shiet happend to me, i just pull over, turn it off. and turn it back on. and itll stop.

wheres the tcm located and what does it look like

When the S3 is flashing that usually means there is a code in your tranny ecu which is behind the peddles under the dash and just like when there is a code when u have a check engine light u count the flashes to see what code it is and there is a list somewhere on the forums that tells u what each code means

Check your Main Fuel Relay

Hi, my car used to do that until I find out it was my Main Fuel Relay. It’s true, the flashing indicates there is a code in the TCM, but if your car doesn’t turn on, and the s3 starts flashing, believe me, its the main fuel relay. So you try, when it happens you won’t hear the click of the MFR when you put your key in accesories and the s3 starts to flash and the car wont turn on. Search in the forums, there is a guide how to fix the MFR. I did it and it really worked.

My S3 just started flashing today too. I could not start the car in D but when I shifted to N, it started just fine. However, the drive gear drives very slow. I had to shift all the way down to 2 in order to get really moving. All this happened when I was accelerating quickly and when the car tried to run at full throttle, I let up off the gas at that moment. (revved high, but did not mean too)
