s300 on an LS

Hey guys I would like to get a hondata for its nice price and wire up a wideband o2 for it. May I ask what you guys think is best? Thanks for any help.

if its mostly stock or has minor bolt-ons, save your money. a wideband/hondata will do you nothing on a mostly stock LS. if its boosted or bottle-fed, then yes, its freakin great.

An S300 would be a great choice if you don’t plan on going K series. S300 can do a lot of cool things, IMO it would be worth it.

Well thanks for the input but I’m still left with out an answer but I realize I wasn’t very specific. I’m interested in what the best wideband is and also if anyone can point me in the right direction on how to wire it up once I get it all together and ready for install.

if you intend on using the S300. they recomend the PLX wideband, but anyone of your choice should work. installation of the guages is pretty strait forward depending on the W/B you chose and they are all wire to the ecu in the same fashion

I disagree. A guy up here, by the name of Servion tuned 15WHP out of a BONE stock LS. He made 129WHP at 6000ft altitude.

THis was with Neptune, which basically serves the same function. Or, you could go spend double the cost on IHE and make maybe half that.

He also improved idle and fuel economy. WHile being quiet.

After spending myt money on cams, a turbo kit I never used, header, exhaust, vafc, clutch, flywheel, intake etc; I will tell anyone if I could do it over again I would spend the money on tuning first. Because a smooth dyno proven power band > bolt ons. And when you add it up, quality bolt ons cost more. Glynn, Servion and Agazzi have proven to me that tuning is where its at, even on a stockish/stok motor.

+1 to this man.

thanks guys

I also have to agree with carl. With a good tune im sure you could add more hp and tq on a bone stock motor then you could by adding say an intake or header and In the end makes every add on, there on out that much more potent(with a new tune, of course)

Do you have the intention of tuning yourself. if yes, it might be worth it. if no, it might not:shrug:

Nah I got a friend that has his own shop so tuning dyno/street aint nothing fro me. Slide him a few bills and he’ll hook me up. It’s just my motor runs 9.5 in the 1/8th and I also plan to add 2 step cause I’m tired of having to watch my RPM’s on my launch’s. I’d like to just get it running as 100% efficient as possible. Hope that makes sense

sounds like your on the right track then man:up:

Alright stupid question, I plan on switching to a B20 now because my LS is on it’s way out the door after three years it treated me well but next time I should watch my oil level better LOL! Would I still be good with an s300 on the B20

yes
