i have a SAFC i used off my DSM for a while, can i use this on my DA?
SAFC is very limited in its tuning abilities… it also has negative effects on timing… not sure why you would want to use it but yeah… to answer your original question yes its universal.
You can but they are garbage IMO.
With the wealth of tuning tools we as Honda enthusiasts enjoy, it boggles my mind that people still want to use a junk ass AFC hack.
ok, what about using an safc with nitrous, wouldnt it benefit a little because the safc is changing the timing and fuel tables or do i have it backwards and it would cause more harm than good, i cant remember if it advances or backs of the timing
safc has no timing control only fuel
Exactly.
And with the way they change the fuel curve, it tends to add timing exactly where you don’t want it with any type of forced induction, nitrous included.
with the safc when you richen the mixture it retards timing.
and when you lean the mixture it advances the timing.
but in a bad way
so no go on nitrous with a safc, im about to convert to obd1 so i was thinkin about just waiting till i hav enough for a s300 and just using my apexi neo as a monitor and just turn the maps off
do you have the neo or the safc? if you’re planning on getting the neo since in your original post you said you have the safc… look into the rev/speed meter instead if you’re not using maps.
or you could also look into blitz power meter
i have a neo its the same as an safc isnt it?
yeah its just a better version of the safc because its also a vtec controller…
i know that but still isnt it the same principles as an safc/vafc? i still wouldnt be able to use it with nitrous
yeah its the same thing… uses the map sensor hack.
