My car is a 91 Black integra. The rear end of the car was hit, and repainted / repaired by a shoddy body work place about 4 years ago. The car was bought and its lifetime has been between las vegas, nv and Orange county, CA. I want to prep the car as much as i can for paint, i have now have a garage to work on the car, but its in an apartment complex.
The paint in the rear is rusting underneath causing it to crack. Where do I start? How do i go about sanding this down? and do they make electrical Dual Action Sanders? i don’t have an air compressor.
This website would probably give you some information to start http://www.gmtips.com/3rd-degree/dox/tips/paint/dent/body-01.htm
Yes they make electric DA sanders a google search will bring up a few
looks like they just bondoed the car and painted over the bondo. With rust, just sand it all down to bare metal. With the bondoed spot…if it were me I would sand it all off and see about fixing the original damage.
Another Vegas cat. Whats up. I agree with blackknight. You gotta get down to the bare metal and sand off all the rust.
yeah most of the rust is just flash rust. I dont have an air compressor so im trying to figure out the best way to sand the rear of the car down.
What part of town you stay at?
southwest.
