so, i just did a vlalve lash adjustment about 2 days ago. the car sounds and runs alot better! today i bought some oil, an oil filter and seafoam. i ran seafoam through my pcv valve, also put it in my crank case to clean it out. when i put it in my pcv valve the car got all boggy and shut off. i started it back up, revved it up a bit then drove it around until the smoke was gone. however, after i put it in my pcv valve, my car is bogging and sounds like a hot rod. its like, blum, blum, blum, blum and when you rev it up it sound raspy, kindof like an sti with a huge exhaust. but when i floor it, the rps hesitate to go up and its choppy. do you think when i ran seafoam through my pcv valve it some how messed up my timing or valves? i thought it was my spark plugs that went bad, apparently not.
i may have fouled the plugs after cleaning/burning the carbon and crap out of the intake system about the best i could suggest off hand
change the plugs it happened to me with a motor with 230k that i seafoamed
i replaced my spark plugs, ngk iridium. still drives the same. it seems like im not getting enough compression on the numer 1 cylinder. i pulll out the spark plug and i dont really notice a difference in the idle. im taking it to my local shop to have them look at it tomaro. its either that or my injectors got messed up.
did you fix it?
sure did, stupid duracrap autozone spark plug wires. there was a hole in one and it was sparking off my valve cover
lol autozone parts equal fail
I usually seafoam my car once a year, preferably three days before doing a tune up/ oil change.
