Hi guys, I searched around and read everything I could find, but i’m kind of retarded and would appreciate some help…
Anyways, i’m burning oil and suspect my PCV valve, because when I let the car idle for a few minutes and then give it some gas, I get a nice puff of blue smoke! Now, I THINK I found the PCV valve… it’s a small flat black thing coming out of the intake manifold right near the head, kind of behind the oil filler cap right? Kind of between the first and second intake runners? Can someone confirm this, the number on it is 17130-PM6-003.
Assuming that’s the right part, the hose that connects it to the intake manifold is the one i’m supposed to pinch, to see if i’m getting a clicking sound, right? Well from what I read you’re supposed to pinch it lightly, but this hose it pretty hard! How the hell are you supposed to pinch it lightly?? This is why I think I may have the wrong part, because I can’t pinch this hose…
Can someone please tell me if I have the right part and if so then how do I pinch it and if not then WHERE IS IT? Maybe a picture?
uhg, I don’t think people are searching enough…I suspect some lazy foolios! Anyways, the “teg tip” is under the archives…here’s the link. Its a really easy install and should probably take you about 5 minutes max to do. I went and got the OEM pcv valve since aftermarket doesn’t last as long.
Did it fix your smoking problem? I haven’t installed mine yet. I have black smoke coming from my tailpipe under hard accerleration…but a number of other probs too with the engine…like sucky gas mileage and decreased power (or me getting use to it) But I know the engine is running a little rich and a little dirty.
