hey everyone ive been searching for a while now and i can find any help anywhere so maybe you guys can help me i just installed aftermarket seats in my car and raching harnesses and so i took out the automatic seatbelts and seats and yet everytime my car is running the seat belt siren is going off and the buzzer sound is annoying so i was wondering what do i have to unplug to get rid of the beep and if you could show me some pics of it that would be awesome thanks
Stick a paper clip in the plug under the pass seat. I forget which ones they are. i think the 2 closest to the clip side. theres only four spots its easy to figure out
does anyone know of a different way that works to thanks:clap:
The warning chimes are controlled by the ICU, although it is removable, your car will not run properly, if at all, without it, best bypass is the one already mentioned.:whisper: 94
Racing seats
I was wondering if the paperclip thing worked, has anybody tried this solution? I want to do something like this but I’m worried about crossing wires that i don’t know what they go to. I don’t want to cause a short in my system. I was thinking maybe I’d run something that takes 12v to see if it would eliminate the beeping and light (thinking that the seat belts were plugged in even though they aren’t).
I’m doing this because I’m trying to install racing seats with a weapon r bracket and the retractable seat belt won’t fit with the ebrake housing and center console. I bought some 4 point belts to replace the stock belt because of this, but the beeping and the seat belt light won’t stop unless I have the stock belts plugged into the connetor under the seat. Please let me know which wires (colors) you cross.
Okay if you are not going to use the automatic seat belts at all and replacing with 4 point belts then why not just remove the control unit for the seat belts? The buzzer chime is inside this unit and i imagine you can find it since it’s making noise. If not its right inside the passenger side (right) kick panel and has two connectors going to it. Unplug the connectors and remove it or leave there if you want. This control unit is only for the seatbelts, i’ve had mine unhooked for months before while i was waiting for parts to fix automatic seat belt system.
Thanks!
Did what you said and unplugged the seatbelt control unit. I didn’t know where it was at first that was making the beep because I think it only beeps in drive. I found it and unplugged it, no beep and no light. Thanks a bunch.
sorry for bringing an old thread back but i have a question.
if i remove this icu will th seat belts still work like normal? as in will it still retract when the car is started?
they wont work at all… just unplug it with your doors closed and use the seatbelts manually
done thanks for the help
just making sure that what i’m looking for, to disconnect, is in the passenger side kick panel, its sort of confusing reading your post. i just wanted to make sure i was right.

where did you get the 4 point belts? are you talking about the belt harness (good for DD)?!
BTW sorry to bump an old thread but i was looking at how to get rid of my buzzer and light

very simple. at the lower passenger side lower kick panel is a control unit. it’s labeled automatic seat belt, unplug the “green” harness plug from it and that will stop the seat belt chime aka buzz.
i did it yesterday, thank you. still curious about teh belt harness though
add a harness bar and attach the harness to the bar. you can’t recline your seats after that though.
yea i think i did more searching after no one responded and found that out…that wont be good for me for DD. thanks though
This might be a dumb question. If I unplug this unit can I still use the pass side belt automatically or does it shut off both sides? The reason I ask is because my pass side belt works fine, but my driver’s side doesn’t retract and it beeps constantly while driving. Thanks.
it shuts off both sides so locate it, then close the doors and unplug it
