Seat Belt issues

A month or so ago I went to the junkyard and found some cloth seats in very good condition, dirty but no tears. I bought front and rears for about $65 or something like that. My original leathers were crappy!!!

I stated for a while now that my auto seat belt on my Driver side stopped working the day I put the seats in. I checked the wiring, fuses, change the seat belt box under pass. side and all. NO GO. I tested all the wiring from the box, fuse panel, etc like the book suggests and the problem is right at the seat/ I then switched the seat belt from my old seat (had no problem w/ belts) to the new seat. Still a no go

My question is (because I know that everyone is going to start saying “take it to the dealer”)
* Is there a way to manually move the belts until I can get a chance to get to the dealer??

 • Do you think the dealer will give me problems and may not look at it for free because I changed the seats?? They are from a vehicle thats the same year as mine
 • The only difference I see in the new seats and the old seats is that my old seats had the adjustable lumbar on the side, that shouldn’t affect anything should it?

Mainly I just need to know how to manually do the seats because I can pull the retractable thing on the door (hard as hell) and lock myself in and when I open the door, it moves back forward as it should. So I know that thats not the problem.

Yes you can push the belt clip back to the very back position and then unplug the control box on the passenger side(just make sure the doors are closed when you unplug it)

To push the clip back use a long screwdriver as leverage with a hand on each side and push, it is pretty easy till you get to the corner.

now since you said you replaced the seats and it quit working then did you get the wire under the seat connected?

Thank you for replying… Yes I did connect the wire under the seat back. That wiring under the seat it where the problem exists. Everything checked out except for that wire.

My book told me to check for continuity with the seat belt buckled and unbuckled and thats where its not adding up, sooooo I don’t know where to go from there…

One more thing, seeing that the ‘auto’ portion of that doesn’t work, does that mean my seat belt won’t work, say to help me if an accident did occur (knocks on wood)??
