Seatbelt, windshield, rear defrost, cruise control

continued from closed topic

  1. Drivers side seatbelt stuck in down position.
checked the fuses, and was going to just manually crank it back and leave it, got lucky that the tool kit was still in the trunk however it doesn’t actually fit into the crank lol. checked the track doesn’t seem to be stuck on anything.

  2. windshield fuse keeps blowing when i use the rear washer.
it was working fine then the fluid froze, i thawed and drained it put cold weather fluid in, and now if i use my rear washer it pops the fuse instantly.

  3. rear defrost only works on the very outside line, assuming this means bad connections and replace window?(haven’t looked this up yet)

4.Cluster lights/heater control
this one i’ve seen alot about just haven’t tested it yet my problem seems a bit odd. my cluster lights up but the needles don’t seem to be illuminated this is my first G2 so idk if thats normal, the heater control doesn’t light up at all except for a couple position lights if i hold them in when selecting where i want the air coming from. ashtray and lighter work fine, as do the on/off indicators for fog/hazard/cruise however the buttons them selves do not light up.

  1. Cruise control
was working one day but not the next, couldn’t find a fuse for it and haven’t really searched that one.

its late so i don’t think there are anymore lol

any help or suggestions will be helpful, im thinking i need a new module for my seatbelt, and the local acura dealer said its 99.99 to diagnose my seat belt and if its covered by warranty i don’t have to pay but if its not then i gotta pay the fee and then what ever it costs to fix it so thats a fun gamble.,

Did you check to see if the belt itself was locked? This has happened to me a few times. Can you hear the motor run?

Cluster lights the needles really don’t like up there are two bulbs up top that might be burnt out and then there are 3 I beleieve on the back of the cluster might be burnt out. The heaters lights are probably broken solder contacts inside the unit you can pull it apart and resolder the connections and it should fix it.

There is a fuse either under the hood or drivers kick panel I don’t remember which. Does your cruise light on the button illuminate?

These are just my opinions but I might be wrong

how do i check if its locked? no i can’t hear the motor running

i’ll look into the teg tip and pull my cluster out just really found out how thanks to a great thread i found

and no the light is lit when my lights are on but pressing the button does nothing

Pull on the seat belt to see if it will extend and retract. If it does and the motor is not running then double check your fuses and if you are positive it’s not a fuse it sounds like a motor to me.

So on your cruise control button the green bar does not light up with the switch is pressed?

the seat belt is unhooked and retracted fine back into the roll up. some one had said maybe it was locked and to me it does seem like its not down all the way by an inch or two maybe its just me tho. idk it was working fine then just quit. the fuses are fine i even swapped them out just to be sure they were good.

and yeah the green bar on the switch doesn’t illuminate any brighter when you click it on, it does light up faintly with the headlights but doesn’t change like it should when i click it on.

don’t know about the others but for your CC problem check by the brake and clutch pedal there should be 1 plug on each side that hits the CC. if on is missing ur CC wont work. i just had mines fix today with a 10mm bolt and nut to replace the stupid plastic plug there and my CC works like butter…
