SEM Interior Dye

I’ve been looking through threads for a few months about SEM Interior Dye and it seems to look great and all but I haven’t seen any feedback regarding how long it lasts etc.

My question is to anyone who knows anyone who has used it or who has used it themselves.

Does it fade? If so how long til it fades usually?
Is it durable or will it come off really easy if scratched?

Also any tips on applying it, prep work necessary?

nothing?

It is very good. Back when i was a noob i painted some parts white, and now i cant get it off. So im buying new panels and using SEM Vinyl paint in Landau Black this time.

My dash is Duplicolor Flat Black Fabric and Vinyl paint and that stuff is great as well. For prep just wipe the bare vinyl parts with a shop towel and rubbing alcohol. in my progress thread you can see pics of a panel that used to be Palmy Blue and i refinished it in the Duplicolor paint and red vinyl.

I used the sem paint on my dash rear panels and it last a while Kuz the sun starts bubbling the paint and it chips right off even with primer. I also painted some LS cloth seats all black and it leaves the ruff but they look good and I washed them before painting!! My carpet painted black also it last a while than gets ruff and starts ripping it takes alot of cans to do interiour so I recommend if your going for black look for a integra speacial edition and get all black parts and they will be much worth it!!

What?

read through these two honda-tech threads. I’m pretty sure they both comment on the result and how long it lasts and both say zero fading, specifically on the second link, page 4, 5 posts from the top the OP says no problems after quite a few months.

Hope you find what you’re looking for.

it wont chip or scratch off because it actually bonds to the vinyl. It really is good stuff.

for my carpet i used Duplicolor fabric and vinyl spray. it turned out pretty good. i cleaned it real well before i did it. i only used 2 cans and it is kinda fading wehre my feet are shifting. so i would recommend another can. as far as stiffness you can just brush it out between coatings.

I appreciate all the help. Seems to be about the best product for the job.

Yea Mann like I said painting it won’t give u that great feel honestly I painted some sparco seats and I regret it but it looks clean but it’s extremely ruff and for does that haven’t tried it try it u will see the results at first good but u have to keep touching up paint… If u guys plan on painting weather stripping with SEM paint it’s the same results.
