So I got my Shark II Antenna in the mail today and I have a couple of questions before I remove the antenna, take off the panels and all that good stuff.

This is my first time doing this so I’m sorry if the answer to this question is totally obvious to someone, that’s why I came here to ask. Anyway, will I need a female to female adapter for this because the wire is only a male connector. I’m only guessing but shouldn’t you plug in the wire from the radio into the antenna, not the other way around? Attached is a picture to help clarify if I’m confusing you guys haha

I need to splice to a +12v wire so which wire/wires is it? I don’t have a tester but I do have a wire stripper. I just want to know if it’s only one wire or if it’s multiple so I can get the proper terminal for it since I don’t know how to solder nor do I have the tools for it
should be a plug going to the antenna you already have… or the general antenna location if you don’t have one, that connector should plug into it.
far as the 12v wire… shouldn’t be hard to run one from the fuse box (or radio so the ant & radio are on the same power & fuse)
should be able to run it right from the fuse box or radio, under the carpet, through the channel that runs between the driver seat and door. the wire should tuck in nicely there with other wires.
if you don’t run it directly from the 12v that goes to the radio, make sure its a 12v line that only comes on when the key is turned, so you don’t drain the battery while the car isn’t even turned on.

Oh ok thanks. For the 12v wire though, can’t I just splice into the power wire that was connected to the old antenna? That’s what I was thinking of doing but I didn’t know which wire or wires it was since I don’t have anything to test it with
i forgot about the power for the antenna motor.
it is 12v but you need to make sure that it is off when the car is off.
been a while since i had my panel off but i think it is pretty obvious which is wire is which, one will just be the remote wire that tells the antenna when to extend or retract, the other should be power.
there may be a ground if it doesn’t ground right to the chassis.
my antenna is bad/broken… but i still get all the stations clear so i haven’t replaced it.
if i do it will likely be whatever i find cheap.
