Ok. I have a 90 GS automatic. Im buying a B16 w/ tranny next week. The first thing Im doing is my auto-to-manual conversion. Then I’ll save my dough for about a month and swap in the motor. Can I use my existing shift linkages with the tranny from the B16 since theyre both cable transmissions? I just dont want to buy 2 different linkages so that I can keep my car out of the shop, as it IS my daily driver. Transmissions arent my deal, so forgive me if I sound lame.
you really should just do the whole project at once. It doesn’t seem worth it to do them separately since they are both huge jobs and fairly related.
as for shift linkages. stock 90-93 teg shift linkage will work perfectly, so will the shift linkage that will come with the engine swap if it was out of an integra. If it was out of a civic, then i’m not sure about the linkage that it came with.

I’d like to do it all at one time but I dont really have the cash. Plus I’m dealing with 2 different shops. The shop thats doin my swap said that they wouldnt mess with my tranny conversion. And the shop doin my tranny conversion wants to charge me an arm and a tonsil to do the motor swap. I wish i could just do it myself. Thanks for responding though bro.
money shouldn’t have anything to do with when you get it all installed. Just wait that extra month and have it all done at once (i didn’t mean to do it all asap, i meant to wait on the tranny till the engine was going in).
but since you are having it all installed and by different shops then it makes sense to do it that way. If you were doing it yourself or having just one shop do it all it’d be smarter to do at once to save yourself some time, or save yourself the price of all the extra labor.
well, good luck. and i know you’ll love having that manual tranny. I know i’d HATE my car if it was auto.
