While tracking down a no fuel issue, I made my way through the Main Relay tests, it tested fine, and pulled the rear seats to test the connections to the fuel pump. This connection also had power, which would suggest that I needed a new fuel pump. I also noticed that the plastic around the 12v connection was brown. After deciding we weren’t going to have time to change the fuel pump today we decided to plug everything back in, and we cranked it one more time. Bam, fired right up.
Here’s my question: did I just find a good spot on the fuel pump motor, or does that brown plastic indicate their was a loose connection and replugging the wire to the fuel pump solved the problem? Should I still plan on changing out the fuel pump?

did the pin(s) in the connector look discolored?
I’ll have to go back and look. The only discoloration I noticed was on the plastic encasement of the connectors: both sides.
sounds like the problem in my carr i start up my car fires up…10min later after driving it just shuts off…i wait about another 15min then crank it and it fires up…and thenn dies another 10min later…wat could be this problem… fuel pump? a relay?..everytime i turn the key to (II) i hear the fuel pump priming and i hear the click…-_-
^^you still hear the click when the key is cycled immediately after it dies?
what happens when you try and start it after it dies?
if it cranks, and you hear the relay click, it may be the coil. try checking for spark immediately after it dies. but just leave the plugs in and check it at the wires. don’t really wanna pull plugs on a hot engine
i dont think its the coil bcz i bought a new ignition coil, rotor, and cap…and yes after it diess i try to start it and it just crankss but doesnt start…wen i turn the key to II the check engine comes on and clicks and i here the pump prime…-__-
im thinkin it can also be the crank position sensor or cam sensor???or maybe i jus neeeeed a new dizzzy ahhh
check the codes. if it’s crank sensor, should spit a code
