well, basically the shortblock is everything below the headgasket (not including the transmission).
the longblock would be the engine minus the tranny (thus the intake manifold down to the oil pan).
Whether some sensors, distributor, power steering pump, alternator… are included with a “longblock” will depend on the person who is selling it.

Agreed. My long block came with distributor, intake manifold, throttle body, some of the harness (chopped up), power steering pump, alternator, A/C compressor, clutch and flywheel.
The last three items (A/C, clutch and flywheel) typically don’t come with the deal but the guy at hondamotorsonline.com threw them in to keep my business as there was an inconvenience with my payment options.
