Short Shifter Choices

Time to replace what I think is a Ebay brand short shifter But not sure what to get, with that being said I heared that short shifter are no good on syncrows in my 91 LS tranny…I used a B&M, Skunk2 and of course the OEM shifter before. Any help would help me out a ton… -Thnaks

i just got the megan racing, its far better than ebay knockoffs and almost the same price

I have the megan one too (dual bend) and I love it. Paired it will ES shifter bushings and a hasport nylon bushing up front by the shift rod. Feels amazing and stock shift knob screws right on. I also cut like a half inch off the bottom of my knob so there was room between the top of the shift boot and the knob.

Only issue I had was that it kept coming loose, so I had to put 2 bolts on the one end and lock them up against each other…problem solved.

If something ever happened to it, I will be going B&M.

yea and dont forget the es bushings for it, super cheap and great investment

I have the b&m dual bend, I love it. Especially with the ES bushings. Also modified my linkage with shoulder bolts and custom nylatron bushings. Can’t wait to see how it performs after doing that.

not trying to thread jack, but where do i get these linkage bushings?

I had to go down to their shop here in phoenix and told them I had their linkage and they just gave it to me. On some other forums, it says they have repair kits they will give you for free cause apparently the Hasport linkage gets sloppy over time. I dunno if you would have to prove you own their linkage or not ( I didn’t) , but that’s the facts. Give em a call.

However, you have to grind out the pin to install the bushing cause its a double headed pin that’s not removable. The bushing comes with a bolt you use in place of it.

i made my own and im really pleased with it. i added about 1.75 inches below the ball (way more than any shifter on the market.) and another 1.75 inches above the ball, and angled the cuts to make it kinda like a dual bend. i love it, short throws and third gear is less than a hands width away from the steering wheel, perfect for touge.
