Short throw shifter

I dont think DA and DC shifters are interchangable.

Yes you can do an ITR shift linkage and b&m shifter, just buy the b&m for the ITR. But honestly, the ITR shifter is short and solid, and better than the b&m. Every person that sat in my car felt the shifter and were in love with it.

well… it’s not a matter of which is better all the time, sometimes it’s that we already have the b&m shifter, or any other shifter that we used to have… and we dont have the extra cash to put out for the shifter along with it…

shows b&m shifter for 90 - 00 integras

only differences between the 2 shifters shown are one has a shorter throw…

but same for 90 - 00 again…

but then here it shows DC shifters, saying EXCLUDING ITR

iunno, anyone tried using another shifter besides the oem ITR shifter on their ITR shift linkage?

(i’ve gotta check out ur ITR shifter & linkage when i head down there)

anyone use a skunk2 short shift, i was gonna get b&m pro, but changed my mind at the last minute (they had these in stock at $150) should be here soon

hope i didn’t make a mistake

is the itr linkage a direct replacement for the 90-93 integra, are there any modifications that need to be made (to the car or shifter)?

No, there is no modification needed. Its a direct replacement.

You can also use any DC2 shift linkage. Its the same as the ITR except the JDM ITR is zinc plated (gold color). What makes the HUGE difference is the ITR shifter itself. Its short, its OEM, and its dual bent meaning it sits closer to you (driver) allowing for easier shifting. You have to feel one to see the difference versus a stock shift linkage, and aftermarket shifter.

I have driven an integra with ITR linkage, but a b&m shifter in it, and it was not a good feeling at all. This is my opinion.

So a B&M shifter with the ITR shift linkage isn’t really worth it. I am assuming that the B&M ITR shifter doesn’t have the dual bend to sit it closer to the driver?

Just stick to the ITR linkage and shifter?

Time to find me a linkage and shifter.

i just removed my shift linkage to install the bushing etc, and noticed the little thing at the end of the lnkage was loose and nasty, plus the welded joints are all rusty so, youre 100% sure the linakges are the same? i know about the shift lever.

yes. I had it in my car for 3 years before it was stolen in July. Its a perfect fit. Trust me.

And its better to get the ITR linkage AND shifter. I got mine for $80 complete, but current prices are around $150-175 complete. HTH.

i’m using the DA skunk2 knob and shifter with ES bushings, great setup and no regrets.

ive looked everywhere for the linkage/shifter combo. im going to break down and email/call hmo and ask them if they can get it.

Where can you order a ITR shifter/linkage from? After reading this thread lol i’ll see about getting one.

you can try ordering from a jdm store, like password jdm or hmo, but im not really sure.

You NEED to call stores where they sell jdm stuff, especially motors. Try:

inlinefour
jhpusa
passwordjdm
hmotorsonline
k wantanbe
h auto dismantlers [714-554-7657] <—strictly honda/acura dismantlers. Have a huge warehouse of shit!!!

Most of these stores wont list it on their sites, but some have one here and there.

Oh ok cool thnx…so you just call and ask if they have the ITR shifter and linkage and that’s it? And what you say the shifter/linkage was…$150-$170?

So mr. Preston…

From what I’ve read the Itr shift linkage is the same as the DC linkage, except that the itr is zinc plated? So basically all I need to do is find a DC linkage and combine that with the ITR shifter? I’m sure that would be much easier to find. And this will give the same results as if I had the itr linkage because they are the same otherwise, correct?

Also if u have a picture of how the shifter used to sit in the interior please email it to me

Yes, as I posted before…

Also, I used to have a picture of it in my car, but this was many years ago, and I havent been able to find it. If I come across it, i’ll let you know.

I have a DC2 ITR shifter with ES bushings in my DA. All I had to do to make it fit my stock DA shift linkage was to grind about 4mm off of the base and it fit right in. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUY ITR SHIFT LINKAGE!!!

10,000,000,000 X better than any short shifter!!!

Preston is right!!!

Sweet. I was thinking of passing on this mod because of the rarity/price of ITR linkage but if any gen3 linkage is basically the same, then that opens up a lot of doors.

PS- to anyone thinking of doing this, if you search there is a pic of a gen2 vs gen3 shifter, and it says which ~4mm you have to grind off, like knowledge said.

It’s seriously SUCH an easy mod to put a DC2 shifter into a DA. I would recommend it to everyone. You don’t necessarily have to get an ITR shifter, as I’m coming to the conclusion that the ITR shifter is just a polished GS-R shifter. Either way, the DC2 shifter makes for the perfect throw IMO.

I got my shifter used off ebay for $20 shipped. Best mod for the money I’ve ever done. No linkage or any other parts necessary.

FUCK A SHORT SHIFTER!!! It’s a waste of money…OEM HONDA BABY!!!
