Shortage?

So after about a half an hour of being at a friends I went to go leave and the car wouldn’t start, it will crank but no start. So I replaced the ignition coil in the distributor and it started right up and I drove it hOme. When I went to go leave again same thing wouldn’t start. So this time I rePlaced the whole distributor and still a no go, so I put in a new main relay and it started but when I turned it off a no go again what could it possibly be? Sometimes the fuel pumP isn’t running but I’m also gettin no spark. It’s a 92 Gsr b17a

I will help my fellow Kentuckian out, It probably is your fuel pump relay easy to fix just do a search
here is a nice resource on the problem:

http://techauto.awardspace.com/mainrelay.html
and read the whole manual it will help you with problems later on

It is located under your dash board near the little coin tray on the left side of your steering wheel. It is black or brown in color. The easiest way to know whether you have a faulty relay is to check the fuel pump as described by “GStRing92”

Tip: A brand new main relay will most likely use the same poor quality solder/application. It’s recommended that you observe the solder application quality before installing the main relay. A brand new main relay will have a practical lifespan of 8-10 years, unless they have been updated.

hey man thanks for replying. i changed the new relay already and it didnt help. now there is 2 of them under there, one says 12v main assmb’ly and there is a smaller one bolted to it. do u know what that one is?

it’s underneath the steering wheel. On the left side it is brown and it is behind a black relay.

Turn signal relay…I’m pretty sure…Could be a ecu problem…

i have replaced the main relay in it. i also took out the brown turn signal relay and it looked good. anyways i have replaced everything i could think of EXCEPT for a fuel pump. the thing that gets me is that sometimes when i turn the key to accessory i can hear the pump kick and pressurize and the relay clicks and it will start but most of the time i cant hear it pressurize and the relay wont click, thats when it wont start
