Should I get h3 yellow

I want yellow fogs, but I’m thinking about going with the yellow h3 bulbs. If you or anyone you know is using yellow bulbs, please let me know what you think. I want the yellowest bulb. I have all clear glass up front and I like it. That’s why I’m not replacing the lens.

i’ve had both the h3’s were nokya’s i bought for like 50 bucks and now i have the oem yellow glass covers that i got from the junkyard out of a legend for free i put them in my 1pieces there is really no difference that i can see

I have some yellow colored bulbs in my fogs and they look plenty yellow, especially next to the silverstar headlights. I like em.

so is better to use the yellow bulbs then paint the lens?

In my experience the H3 yellow bulbs, do not look
yellow enough. I have had 2 different types, and were
both rather dull.

i had nokya yellow bulbs…its more of a light yellow than the piss colored yellow you get with the legend fog covers. The Nokyas were brighter though, but that could be from the higher wattage.

I have the h3 nokya 2500k_70 watts for 30 bucks on ebay. not quite the colors but sure beat the stock fog lights on the black housing one piece.

I have yellow overlays and yellow bulbs and still not that jdm yellow color im looking for at night.Looks good in day time.Im going with H.I.D 3k h3 to get that nice yellow.

I just painted my fog lens the other days so i may do the same thing you are…Just have the fog lamps brighter…I only want the look really.

what? i have the yellow h3 bulbs and took the glare cover things off my fogs, with the 1 piece headlights and mine are yellow as can be

and that shit above were it looks yellow in daylight is ugly. its painted right?

my 1 pieces look all white in the daylight. night time my turn signal are amber and fogs are bright yellow. ill try and snap a pic tonight if i have time

here they are in the daylight, ill try and get them turned on at night

and here they are at night, look way more brighter in person

The reason you’re not having complications with your yellow coloring is because you have JDM 1 pieces, where there’s a yellow glass condom over the bulb making the light output well… yellow.

They have the USDM 3 Piece lights, and apparently are having a hard time finding the shade of yellow they want using just bulbs.

If you want yellow fog lights, just get the yellow fog light bulb condoms from a older Acura Legend or Vigor… It’s cheap and easy to do. I had it done on my old set of USDM 3 Pieces years ago…

And i agree, painting the exterior yellow looks pretty ugly, I do find it hilarious how everyone wants yellow fog lights to be JDM…

Here’s afew pictures.

Day picture with the fog lights on (This is like 2005)

Lights off, to show they were all OEM exteriorly

I cant find a pure night picture… but you get the idea, they were decently yellow…

LOL at jdm yellow.

looks good i did the same thing with both i bought some 1 pieces and the yellow covers were all burnt up and black i just replaced them with ones i got from a legend yellow covers that i got at the junkyard and before that i did it in the three pieces and was super easy to install the yellow covers looks way better than painting them “jdm yellow” :werd:

PIAA Ion yellow H3

Best yellow H3 bulbs i’ve ever used in stock housings. They got that look where the inside of the fog lenses are YELLOW with a purple-ish hue.
Ones worth a try would be Polarg yellow H3s. When the yellow headlight craze started coming back 3 years ago (here in chicagoland), the Polarg yellow 9006s were as yellow as you could get without going to 3000k HIDs.
As for Nokyas, I would avoid them. Back in the day (99-01), I tried all the blue 9004 bulbs i could get for under $70.00 - Cuzo, Nokya, etc. [PIAA’s just weren’t blue enough for me]. I never got more than 8 months outta them, and i would always get the ones that said they were “stock 55w” wattage. I knew i was lucky. I knew one owner of Evolution motorsports and he told me I was lucky - the 9006s weren’t lasting more than 3months. And people used to melt headlight wiring harnesses ALL the time.

my lights

these are my JDM with out the glare guard and the yellow lance but i put yellow H3 bulbs and they are bright.

x2 I can attest to this

lol wut? I’ve had 2 types myself…PIAA ion yellows and some cheap ass ebay ones. Both were super yellow, ebay ones are PISS yellow in fact.

i did the work and took mine from a vigor… it was really yellow, not quite piss yellow but pretty dark. I don’t like the yellowish white bulbs… they kinda look cheap. also i am using cheapie barely blue h3’s. I had H4 yellow “top speed” lights in my subaru for a year and never had a problem, my ex has the blue topspeeds in her celica. Bulbs are still good…
