Silchuki14's Slow Build Thread - K-Serie Integra

Hi guys,

I’ve been lurking this forum since a long time. I thought that I should at least show you my stuff since I take a lot of information here. I hope that I will be able to return the favor with information as well.

I have bought the car in 2007 and build it myself over the year. I have gain my knowledge through forums like G2IC and by doing an automotive mechanic course in school. Therefore, lot of things are left to be done, changed, re-think, replaced, etc. The original goal of the car was for circuit racing but I have never had the chance to go yet for various reasons. Anyways, I feel that the car is still in the “Roadtests” period which is useful for me to adjust or repair parts on the car.

I will not list every parts I have put on the car, but if you want information on any part you see, feel free to ask and it will be my pleasure to answer. The car has a K20A3 engine, and except some mods, I tried not to mods the car in places that could change the handling of the car. The reason is that I want to start to track the car without it to be too modified.

Enough talking, here’s pictures of the car:

When I bought it in 2007

During (Where the magic happen)

Last year picture, can be said to be its current state (Not really)

Engine Bay (Need to take better picture, things have changed)

Interior (Same, need better picture)

Project for Summer 2013:
-Shaved & Repaint Vavle Cover Yellow (Remove Stickers)
-Paint Intake Manifold New Ford Grey
-Heat Wrap Header & Intake Tube
-Paint Coldbox Cover Wrinkle Black
-Restore brackets (Sandblast) & Clean Engine Bay
-Finish Homemade Intake Duct Installation
-Replace Axles (32mm Prenium Axles)

-Replace Master Cylinder
-Re-route & Protect Brakelines (Under the Carpet)
-Clean Wheels

-Install Black-Housing One-Piece Headlights
-JDM Amber Bumper Lights
-Permanent Installation of Pancake/Hiro Wing
-Fix and Re-Install CD5 Accord Sideskirts

-Finish Recaro Installation
-White LED Cluster Lighting
-White LED Domelight
-Replace Hatch Release & Gaz Door Cables + Module
-Clean Carpet & Re-Tint

Currently, the car is on four blocks since summer is not here yet and one axle is broken.

Like the title says, it will be a slow build (as it has been from the start) because money and time is low. (Student + Upcoming studies in Japan) I will try to update the thread with as much picture as possible. Sadly, there is a good chance that the car won’t be driven this summer due to the reason stated before. However, it won’t keep me from giving some love to my DA.

Thanks for looking

PS: Native French speaker, sorry for my mistakes.

I’ve seen this before. I’m tuned in

Yay for a build thread!

I really really like your car man… Keep up the great work.

nice work on the car… we have the same shift knob…

if you dont mind me asking, how much was the k-swap without the aftermarket parts?

I need to come down to your place this year. I’ve never seen your car yet!

I like the shift knob, except that the sticker on top didn’t last… I need to glue it somehow. I may replace it for something else in the future.

As for the K-Swap, I can’t really say because I didn’t really count to tell you the truth. I could estimated it at 4-5000 (Keep in mind that the engine is a K20A3, a lot cheaper than the A2 and such) but like I said, didn’t really count so I could be wrong.

Thanks for the comments guys. I won’t be able to do much to the car till May, I need to do my finals at school first.

yea, my sticker didnt last very long either. when it fell off, i just super glued it with a SUPER TINY dot. anything more will spill over the edge.

Today I replaced my one-piece headlights with one that I have been rebuilting since winter 2011. I have also reinstalled my Intake Duct and my bumper that I had to take out when I broke an axle last year.

After I finished the front, I took the carpet out to clean it and dye it again. I also bought generic fabric floormats to replace the ugly rubber I used last year.

This is how the car look at the beginning of the season:

We don’t see very well but the housing was painted black and the lens has been professionally polished to look like new. I like the result and I need to test the lights now. (Didn’t have the time to charge my battery.)

That’s all for now.

Some small updates.

Take and dyed my carpet with the Duplicolor Product.

Before:

After:

Installed (New floormats, but not as good as Lloyd’s one lol):

I had heatwrap leftovers so I wrapped my Intake Tube. I know it’s useless but I wasn’t able to figure out a good color for the tube.

I also painted my Homemade Cold Box Wrinkle Black. I missed it because there is no texture but I liked the result so I installed it.

Next:
Waiting for my Hatch & Gaz Door Release Cable to come in to replace the old rusted one. Then I will be able to rebuilt the interior. I will also complete my seat rails for the Recaro.

Question:
Is the color of Non-OEM Amber Bumper Lights are the same as OEM one?

Thanks!

looks good dude not bad at all.

Sup guys, it’s been a while!

Some stuff has been done to the car since, but it’s mostly the same. Some changes since I last posted here;

-Car has new axles, so I can drive it.
-Recaros are installed.
-Yellow Advan wheels are off the car, now on GS/GSR wheels till I order tires for the 16 inches wheels.

Here are some quick picture I took from the first roadtest since I broke an axles (2 years ago). Not much but you can see the current state of the car.

Thanks for looking!

sweet update just curious how much did you pay for the yellow recaros.

Mmmmm yellow SRDs.

I’m still in love with your ride dude.

Sadly, I was told they were fake after I bought them… :frowning: Actually, they are real SR3 that were converted into Wildcat SR4. So it’s a Real/Fake thing. For the moment I don’t mind since I really like them, but they won’t stay forever lol.

I paid 700$ shipped if I remember correctly. (That was maybe 3 years ago)

Got a bad ground on the right Foglight (I rebuilded the headlight some time ago) I need to fix that. Still need to make up my mind about buying tires…but theses are pricey in Canada. (215/45R16 Kumho)

Thanks for the comments!

Love the color combo and K series in your car!

I wouldn’t sweat the “fake” wildcat center portion of your seats. They look great and I would much rather have real recaros with custom upholstery than fake recaros. At least you know the genuines are a quality seat and your safety isn’t in question.

Very good point!

Little update!

Planning to modify my current 3inch exhaust to put a cut-out and a 2"- 2"1/4 Axle Back. I’m pretty sure cops will find the car too noisy when they meet me lol.

Just replaced the entire foglight unit in my Right Light. For some reason the ground was not good and all the metal housing was rusty. So I had to open the light and a spare one to switch them. Was kind of a pain actually but now everything work fine!

Just bought a ITR MC/Booster since I suspect my OEM to have an internal leak. Was really cheap so I jumped on it. Also bought K-Tuned Shifter Box Metal Bushing and a K20a-R Power Steering Pump. Putting back PWS since I’m getting lazy lol.

Thanks for looking!

Boooooooo, no PS! Lol
