sk2 camshafts

If i sent my b18c1 head to portflow and got the full headwork, with an 11:1 forged bottom end… what camshaft would you guys recommend for 91 octane and streetability?? sk2 tuner 3 or sk2 pro 1 maybe?? i will call them eventually but id like to know what you guys think too??

Pro 1s and Pro 2s typically want 12+:1 for optimum use.

If you don’t have enough compression your bottom end will suffer.

from what i gather 11:1 is max c/r for 91 octane so im trying to build a good setup around that

how do you know if your block has to be bored? the itr pistons from HMO are 81.00

A machine shop would tell you if it needs bored, but typically a hone is adequate.

But if it is a high mileage motor, a hone might not be able to make the cylinders perfectly round… in such case, have it bored to 81.25mm and use oversized OEM pistons. Done.

You said you were going to call Skunk2… Ask them what cam they’d recommend.

US ITR pistons would be about 11:1… JDM ITR pistons would be about 11.5:1

It’s all in the tune, but typically 12:1 is the limit with pump 91 with an awesome tune.
