ok so i was looking to lower my car an was wondering if skunk2 coilovers were good… does anybody has them?
Skunk2 Coilover perform really well, BUT ride quality sucks. After awhile of riding on them, you barley notice the ride.
im kinda currious to know what and how your setup is, I have the skunk2 type S coilovers with the yellow bump stops cut to 1" 1/2 and they ride really great. Not even under a 2" 1/2 drop and they still feel smooth and great not firm… Some folks dont cut the yellow bump stops leaving them at 3" and so that reduces the shocks rebound so you end up with a firm/stiff ride. Now sleeves are another story since they tend to have a higher spring rate so they ride stiffer.
I had g/c sleeves before and if i had to choose between the two id go for the skunk2 type S full coilover. My wheels rarely go airborn when hard cornering and its smoother when driving over railroad tracks and bad roads. skunk2 just take more abuse than the eiback sleeves I had.
When i first installed them, I had to cut my bump stops, but not too much. I’m running front and rear SKUNK2 camber kits and Skunk2 Pro S Full Coilovers. I am also running 195-55-R15 on all 4 tires. Can’t really give the exact drop but basically I am flush with the tires. I just covered my wheel gap.
thnak u guys for all the info… an yeah ill buy the skunk2 type s … i did a little of research an everybody say their good… thaks again…
thats pretty much my entire new setup. maybe try to take some air out of the tires, like if your max psi is 45 then dropem to 40 or 35psi
no problem, just make sure to cut your bumpstop, or else it will be a shitty ride until it gets squished. lol
I just left it, I just got use to it, now it rides perfect, but now I need tires.
