Got the new camber arms from S2… and after LS meshes and brand new tires…the FREAKIN THINGS DONT WORK … damn pieces of garbage… this really urkes me because I work damn hard for my money …mommy and daddy don’t pay for my crap. Instead of serious camber wear; there is… everybody say it with me …SERIOUS CAMBER WEARRRR… very good boys and girls…if anyone with a brain wants these things; make sure it’s for track use …not daily driving. Skunk2 Racing??? yeah aiighiittt:bang:
how do they not work i mean how low is your car camber kits can only do so much.
Uhh could you explain yourself because your post isn’t clear at all. Is there not enough adjustment? Is the setting slipping? What is the problem?
more info please?
Sorry
My bad guys; I wanted to vent… Anyway… car is on S-Techs w/ “Blues” it’s a 4DR if that means anything. Camber looks o.k. but one day it just came to me to check how everything was… well the plate moved(driver side); came to this conclusion because of the scraped paint, and there is very bad tire wear on both sides. To me the passenger side has not moved but the tire still has wear about the same as the driver side… again, sorry 'bout the lack of info but I’m really steamed about this.
thanks
using Tokico Blues on any drop more than a very mild one is dumb as shit. They WILL blow soon.
thanks…trial and error…
not trying to be mean, just saying. I learned that the hard way. Tokico blues are maybe 1 step above oem. They can’t handle more than a very mild drop. I’d switch them out for some adjustable Illuminas or some Koni Yellows if you have the $$$ and some Ground controls
too late damage done…
:umno:i ran tokico blues and skunk2 coilovers for over 3 years nearly slammed with no issues at all. that’s got nothing to do with his camber kit issue.
if the plates were tightened to spec and they still came out i’d be on the phone with skunk2.
I have the Skunk2 camber kits for the front of my g2 and it rocks. I have no problem with it. Mine to did slip and i lost 2 bolts because I did not tighten it enough. As of right now I have not gotten 2 new bolts yet for it so each one is running on 3 bolts and has not slipped on me. Use some elbow grease and loctite
Did you get an alignment after you installed them?
ICEMANGSR…do you think I can do that? I mean do you think Skunk2 would actually help me
DAPOWER…running on three bolts would scare the crap out of me everytime I got into the car…let alone when I have my wife and kids w/me…as far as elbow grease…I did tighten them and used Max. strength Honda-Lock…but still I notice you are from Cali. I’m from Jersey where the streets are like swiss-cheese and they’ll rattle your spine making you wish your health care provider had Chiropractors…
STERONZ…that is a gooooodddd question…what do you think this idiot did…:worry:…no
What’s your toe set at? Even if you did get an alignment and set the camber to near spec using the S2’s but if your toe is out of wack… your tires are going to be gone… quick!
Toe is what eats tires most of the time… not camber…

check this out…this goes to STERONZ as well… I completely forgot that years ago I had a 91 Eclipse;dropped it on Eibach Sportlines got brand new Michelin KDW’s (damn I liked those tires) and promptly went to Sears for a wheel alignment…they gave me my report with all those numbers and words i.e.: caster, toe etc. drove like a dream…for 2 DAMN WEEKS and went back to wearin’ my tires out (did I mention that I liked those tires) anyway maybe I was traumitized about the whole thing and suppressed that memory but I think that was why I didn’t get the wheels aligned this time (man I paid a lot for those tires)
Do the 94-01 SK2 a-arm conversion. Still slammed, and absolutely no wear after one year on the same tires. I don’t believe that the new SK2’s give the degrees needed for max slam.
i think what you’re seeing is major toe wear…
you should get your alignment checked. I remember someone posting their alignment specs and turned out their rear toe was in the negatives. Its supposed to be ever so slightly positive, and his tires were effed.
i agree with hybrid, even if you correct your camber but not your toe, you’re still going to get crappy wear patterns.
koolkid…your car looks as low as mine… but mine looks like this… “front view” … /—\ … is this not camber? they should look like this l—l right? …ez12 …like I stated before I spent over 600 bills getting new tires:argh: and a wheel alignment but that really didn’t help…I like the idea of the 94-01 S2 route though but I have to get my funds up…again:bang:
Yes what you have is negative camber but like I said before, make sure your toe is within spec. Some alignment shops have idiots working there (like 2 I went to) and don’t even pay attention to toe, all they do is fix your camber and low and behold months later, your tires are fucked.
Next time when you do get a realignment, MAKE sure the dude sets your toe to spec. And if that’s corrected and you still have bad camber, then I suggest you check all your bushings and suspension components cuz those could affect your tire wear as well… good luck. :read:
For perspective… I know a lot of people, including myself that are running +1.5 negative camber with the toe at zero and have no camber wear at all…
I ended up buying the revo kit, and was able to get my camber down to 1.4 before maxing the passenger side. On my da it was at 1.2 for a long time with no camber wear.
