skunk2 pro s II

Hello there, still fairly new to the forum but happy to be here. I’m thinking of upgrading my suspension to some skunk2 pro s II’s.
I can get them for $700 out the door at the local shop in my area.

Has anyone had any issues with these?

Do you guys recommend these coilovers?

Just looking for some feedback, thanks in advanced.

people talk about these all the time. for daily driving they suck and people have actually taken them off and gone with something else. on the other hand, for track/auto x type driving, people say they are pretty good. if you look around on here and on honda tech, there are plenty of reviews…

for 700$ you could get a koni+gc set up. koni blue and ground control and be happy…

I gotta say if $700 is your budget, you should save a little more for the proven koni yellow/gc combo. Though it’s really not a true coilover system, you won’t regret it. Besides being superior over skunk2 suspension set up as far as quality control and R&D, the customer service at koni is top notch. If you ever need to get the the dampener rebuilt, koni offers rebuilding service and you have them valved to any spec you need, unlike skunk2 where they’ll either tell you to buy a new set or they’ll offer you a replacement dampener from their Taiwanese manufacturing plant in any event that your shocks need replacement.

Do a quick google search and you’ll find more than enough information you need about the koni yellow/ground control setup. Do it right the first time and you won’t regret a thing, I promise!

yea, i was going to suggest the koni yellows but that would of put him out of his price range so i said the blues. i bought the koni yellow+gc set up for my stateside da and even though i havent got the chance to feel what its like, i can honestly say that i’m already happy with the purchase.

no where on the internet have i seen a negative review about the set up. even the fd rx7 guys like this set up. thats saying a lot…

I forgot to mention that the type of suspension that im looking for if for daily driving/cruising . I did some quick research on the Kony Yellows and it seems that alot of people are really happy with these types of shocks, alot of positive reviews. Does anyone know were i can get the Koni yellow with the ground control combo? What exactly do i need to make it a full gc system. I looked at weksos website and i found this.

http://www.weaksauceparts.com/store/GCKoni.html for $1,170

I have the skunk2 pro 2 coils and they are much better than the first series.
they are fully adjustable and tunable to your specs or needs.
I bought a new set instead of a used set to avoid issues. I’m happy for daily and track they work well.

i have teh Pro Cs…as a daily, i love how they ride, i get compliments all the time on how smooth they ride…if you want to lower and just have a nice ride w/ something that handles corners slightly better than stock it’s a great move. but i know it’s not ideal for the track

I had the skunk2 pro s 2… they are not a soft ride lol. They are for the track and do very well there, but for daily driving, dont buy them! Go with the koni yellows and ground control coilovers, rides like a beamer. Or if you cant afford the koni’s just get some tockico or kyb. either way its a smooth ride. But if you must have a full coilover suspension then get the function and form setup. Im rocking the function and form type 1 and i get compliment from my friends telling me its a smooth ride. (my friends all use ground control coilovers on their cars) so it must ride good.

i’ve ridden in FF2s and compared to my pro c…i have to say my pro cs ride better as a smoother daily. just my opinion

Yea i hear the pro c’s are pretty good but dahm they are pricey. FF are decent for what they are.

And price wise

i got mine at a steal and used…i got the pro cs and front camber kit for like 450 shipped. but the pro s’s are a better quality and have the adjustable dampening, which is kind of what i want eventually, but if my money is right i’m definitely going back w/ BC coilovers, i had those on my maxima, and i fukin loved how they rode/handled

do u have that backwards? cuz the pro s2s dont have dampening adjustments, and the pro c’s do they cost about $1200 and they dont make pro c’s for the DA

Yea i think you got it backwards bro, you aint got pro c’s if you want pro s’s lol.

Thanks for everyone’s replys. I have made up my mind and I am gonna go with the koni yellows with gc kit.
What do you guys recommend for the spring rate???

Factory rate for front is 340 lb/in and rear is 250 lb/in.

Thanks,

—Chris.

i had red kyb adjustable shocks with ground control coils ride smooth but changed them for function form type 1 and love them they ride good and smooth like the ff type 1 better

Great Choice!

Well as for spring rates, what kinda of driving does the car that you plan on doing this to do? (daily driver/weekend warrior/pure track car/ all of the above?) Most reputable coilover companies for the integra chassis come standard with 9k (504lb/in) in the front and about 6k (336lb/in) in the rear which isn’t a bad starting point to look at. But if it’s going to more of a daily driver I would recommend a slightly softer spring, however it’s all personal preference.

lol it’s possible, no i’m sure i have it backwards, but you can easily get the S2s from a DC and get the DC/EG forks and call it a day, but i thought i saw the Cs were available for DA…it’s been a while since i looked

I am still happy with my ff type 1 for the price. I had to get the rear extenders with i still think is shitty. i have yet to see how long they will hold up. Did you use top hats with your ff1s?
