I just put in a Skunk2 short shift, energy suspension bushings,the JDM ITR shift boot(black with red stiching), and a skunk2 shift knob. It works well ecept the shifter is still way too high. I re-threaded it and cut it down, but It was still a pain in the ass. If I did it again I would not go with Skunk2.
Aside from the skunk2 shifter being almost stock length, the skunk 2 knob kinda sits high too. I have one and it sits higher than my old razo knob. Skunk2 probably didn’t thread the knob all the way in so stays heavy.
My friend has the same combo you do on his EK, he loves it.
How does the skunk2 feel? My main gripe with other short throws I have driven is that they are very notchy. Is the skunk2 any better? Right now I think the long throw of my stocker isn’t worth sacraficing that smooth like butter yet oh so reasuring feel I get every time I grab a gear.

I have a neuspeed short shifter with a skunk 2 knob. It’s very smooth (the shifting that is). It has been the smoothest for me so far. I’ve tried B&M and that ones is notchy. I know this isn’t a very good comparison but my neuspeed SS feels smoother than my friend’s skunk2 in his EK. I will say it again, a heavy shift knob makes a big difference.

It’s plenty smooth even without a shift knob. Energy suspension shifter bushings reduce play in the shifter. If you don’t replace bushings there is a lot more room for error when selecting gears.
Wow, I guess I’ll keep my neuspeed then. I wanted to get the skunk2 knob and shifter combo because the skunk2 has a sealed bearing in the bottom of the shifter. The only thing that concerned me was that if you look up applications for the shifter it lists the same one for 90-00 integras, intstead of two apps. I imagine ill just get a weightier knob now.
