Slim fans on stock rad?

Sup guys, as many know our engine bays are kinda tight with the stock components. trying to make some more room in the bay. my cooling system was replaced by previous owner and works great. just wondering if there are slim fans that will be a direct fit. cause the stock fans are huge. Thanks in advance

Most of the aftermarket slim fans are universal fitment since they don’t bolt to the radiator and instead use special plastic fasteners that thread through the fins of the radiator and secure the fan. Here’s a link to what typical slim fan mounting hardware looks like: http://www.amazon.com/Mishimoto-MMFAN-MOUNT-Universal-Fan-Mount/dp/B002CXGD2C You shouldn’t have any problem installing on your stock radiator.

never even knew they made those lol. im going to pick it up with the fans. now that leads me to my next question…is there any wiring im going to have to tamper with to get the fans running just like the stock ones?

No big changes. Each of the stock fans should have 2 wires and you’ll just need to connect these two wires to the two wires on the new fan.

Awesome thanks for the help Colin.

I got the Flex-a-lite dual electric fans with the shroud. Similar to this one. I think it’s part #225. It was made for a G3 Integra but it still fits fine on my Fluidyne radiator. Unfortunately the bolt holes don’t line up, but I was able to use zip ties still (like I would have had to with standalone fans). Having a shroud definitely helps direct the flow.

I got a second one for my wife’s Integra. Sometimes you can get it on eBay or Amazon for around $200, but I haven’t checked in a long time.
