Hey g2ic, recently became a member & love all the info on here. seems like a great community. anyways, so i recently had my 93 da9 tuned. my timing belt was off a tooth, got a new ecu chip, vtec wire clean-up, valve adjustment. i just bought the car about a month ago and asked him if while he was doing the work he could check it out for any more probs. he couldnt find anything wrong.
before i took it in there was one event which caused it to smoke. i was running it pretty hard & it started smoking @ a stop after the run. it went away eventually. i didnt run it that hard again until i got it back from the shop. it pretty much immediatly started doing it (3 miles away fromt the shop). it was very very light so i thought maybe it was oil burning off or some gunk burning off. it was almost like mist.
i find that it is coming from i guess u can call it an iron weave… its on my exhaust piping (where my cat should be). i will have photos before morning of all of this. so this iron weave is all torn & scratched due to the car being very low. it came like this. the smoke is coming from the torn & scratched area of it. also oil seems to be lightly spraying out from that point. before i went to the shop it had a liquid gasket on the valve cover i noticed. now it doesnt. there seems to be a very small amount of oil building up in the crevice between the head & valve cover.
my coolant is full, my oil is full. its almost an irregular smell. the smoke gets thicker as the car gets hotter. it was just tuned @ Pro Street Import in La Mirada, CA. i will have photos in a few hours.
couldnt get any good photos of it smoking. didnt do it much but ditnt have a whole lot of time to play with it.
