Got to the race track and did some runs…looped back to run agian but my cluster light goes out, so im like ok then i park the car and check out all my fuses and everything is fine…so i tell my girlfriend to turn on the driving lights and press on the brake to make sure the lights work, and as soon as she did that there was smoke under the dash…this is what i found…now i need to know what this wire does and how to fix it…any help guys??

Those are some heavy gauge wires. Is that the ignition switch harness?

i hope its not the ignition switch harness…i never really had any experience with wiring…so i hope its nothing major.

Are you sure the wire is not red with a black tracer?
What size is fuse 11, [it is the park and dash light fuse] it should be a 15A?
The dash lights power lead is red/black, the ground for the dash lights is a red lead, from “Dash Lights Brightness Controller”, the red lead can not “short out”, it is already a ground, if it did “short” to ground all that would happen is the dash lights would be at full brightness.

ok car is starting to freak me out…everything works but that wire is burned up pretty good…should i change the wire still or just cover it up?? oh and no i havent installed anything for a while hahah kinda broke.
oh and i found a 15A fuse that was melted…it was still good the casing was just melted…i replaced it just to be safe.
The wire needs to be replaced.
What is the fuse number?
If you pull the fuse do the park/dash lights work?
Have you checked to see if it is a red/black lead.
Something caused the overload, you need to find it or it will happen again.

The wire wasnt burned that bad just about an inch or two…replaced the wire with some i had lying around everything seems to be ok i will post if anything weird starts to happen…THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP
