So I'm pissed

I was wondering why my car was soooo slammed and decided to take a look at the suspension-

GR2s
H&R springs (the guy I bought the car from cut them)
Skunk2 Camber Kit.

After my inspection I came to the conclusion that this vehicle was ghetto fabbed :bs:

problems I noticed right away–

  1. tire had a huge hole and was ready to blow out (lucky I checked huh)
  2. I gotta replace the springs (looked nice but I didn’t like the ride)
  3. gotta replace Driver side axle (boot torn by the tranny- does the LS one work?)
  4. 3 nuts were missing from the camber kit- lucky I wasn’t in a wreck!!

So I’m no mechanic but this stuff is easy, hopefully I get her back on the road real soon…

damn man, lucky its not no motor issue. i dont know why but people love to cut springs, i for one would never cut my springs just to drop my car, just a half assed way to drop your car. good luck man !

Thanks bro- I found a set of ground controls that I had on the rear of my fist gen teggy. They look like they will work out nicely plus give me some adjustment options. Bad thing is I had to dremel the set screw so now I cannot maintain the perch at a set level. I’m gonna try and see how it works out without the screw if not I’ll have to buy another perch from GC which is 20 dollars…

I see, I actually JUST finalized my koni/gc setup and all together for 170. i havent really read up about the perches moving without the set screw. i dont think it could happen since their so much weight on the springs+perch but i could be wrong. i never had a problem with it though, just my experience though. good luck though man.

I had to play weekend warrior so the past couple of days couldn’t mess with the car… todayI found out some more bad shit-

  1. the passenger side strut fork is stripped up where the bolt that tightens around the strut goes- might have to go with a longer bolt and nut combo (cheapest/ghetto) or find another fork.
  2. the front right brake line is really for the left side of the car- hoping that it was a simple screwup I checked the L side and NOPE, 2 left sided brake lines in the front, LOL- looking for SS lines now
  3. the axles were the wrong type- they didn’t have the ABS rings- hummmm maybe this is why the stupid ABS light was always on??? Now need the axles with the ABS rings :x

Holy Shit, why did you even pay for this car.

Its this reason I always recomend that when buying a car. have a professional mechanic take a look over it if your not familiar with a car or dont know what to look for. Spending $100 to find out all these little problems before hand would have saved you a lot of time, Money and headaches in the long run!

Kudos for saving her though :up:
