Socal AutoX March 1st

Autocross on March 1st in El Toro field.

Link to the event.

Expect 30 bucks with a student ID, and a little more for those too old. Hosted by Pacific Sports Car Club and the SCCA. Here is your chance to chase down the elusive right hand drive DA owned by Kevin. So far I’m like 2 secs off his pace.

***If you are SM or CSM you have to work the first run group at 8am and do your runs before lunch. ST (or STS) and G stock categories run after lunch.

***You will have to work in the first morning run group if you have one of the following modifications:

A race seat that does not recline, or otherwise looks lighter than 25 pounds. Front and rear seats have to be present.
Tires larger than 225mm across and a treadwear of less than 140.
Non emmissions compliant modifications.

For 2009, it looks like Street Touring allows carbon fiber and body kits.

Rules are HERE

Going so far:

  1. Tegboi
  2. Scratchymaster
  3. Mattyg2

I’m the slowest of them 2, so if you guys can’t beat me, then you suck  jk!!! Come try it out people, we are very nice people

What class are you guys running in?

I’m in CSM or probably just SM

Would it be cool to just come along and check it out? I don’t really trust my car yet to be pushed any harder than I am now daily driving it. My tires are bald and my bushings are shot, but hopefully that will change in the next few months.

Scratchymaster: Is that you in those videos at GMR? I’ve been there a few times and know a few guys that run there, but they’re Mitsu guys and don’t really like having a Honda tag along.

You can come watch if you want, but it’s going to make you want to try it missing out on all the action.

im down…nvr tracked…what do i need

Good tires and make sure your car is okay, and helmet.

i got all that i jus need to find out why im getting such horrible mpg!!!..then i should be good

Matty, you aren’t STS? Kev and I ran that last time, although out carbon fiber technically makes it illegal. CSM and SM is wayyy out of our leagues.

Due to the circumstances of my car, a lot of people told me I was in CSM. I’m going to check it over again before this one.

FYI- STS of the past is now just ST. STS is the old STS2.

Don’t worry, it’s got me pretty confused as well as to why they made this change.

when i used to run in scca events in norcal, they put me under SMT2 i think? street mods, street tires? ahh it’s so confusing… they’ll throw you in a group when you get there.

unless you’re really competitive, and want to be judged accordingly against other cars…

need to get some things done before march 1st.

donvit0 - just make sure your car is in good running order. no leaks, nothing that needs immediate attention, fluids are all good & topped off, and maybe bring extra coolant, oil with you just incase. tires - make sure they are good, check the insides of them for neg. camber wear… going to race with bald tires isnt as much of a fun day…

i usually bring tools and have misc. crap incase anything goes wrong anyway…

Updated with event info and the most likely rules to kick you out of ST.

I’m gonna try to get some tires this week or next so I’ll be ready to go.

If I have a Megan header I wouldn’t be placed in ST since it doesn’t have a carb sticker?

I’m working on getting Azenis RT-615 in the weeks to come and probably a radiator now :frowning:

hey - some other info… stuff that’s different from last time…

Fees:

Online registration entry $30
Day of competition onsite entry $40
Juniors & Students 24 and younger with current student ID $15
X-Runs $25
Online payment is available, or you may pay at the event.

All entrants MUST BE SCCA members. Non-members can purchase an SCCA weekend membership at the event for $15 BEFORE going to registration. Those purchasing a weekend membership will receive a credit of $15 toward the purchase of a yearly SCCA membership.

Time only runs are available for your Primary runs. Work is required.

An additional set of runs (X-runs) are available for $25. A regular set of runs must be purchased and completed prior to taking X-runs. No additional work is required. X-run entries are limited to 10 per run group.

pretty much, $30 online registration & payment, or $40 at location…

$25 at location im guessing with current student ID.

and $15 SCCA weekend membership (not $5 like last time… )

damn this is sounding expensive… plus $25 for extra runs if you wanna do it…

$25 + $15 + $25 = at least $65 for the time of racing…

Matt and Kev: let me know who is going for sure.

I want to know if I should show up with my camera (or get a ride with one of you mofos).

I think last time we went it said a higher price for onsite, but since we were students we didn’t get a higher rate.

What’s the difference between SM and CSM?
