Socal!!!!ef Vs. Da Meet Ricky & Ronnies November 2008 Lets Get Ready To Rumble!!

actually it would filter out alot of the people who would want to go and jerk off all day and rev at people… then the people who’s bumpers were hanging halfway off would either go, and have their bumpers fall off, or wouldnt make the drive out that far anyway…

actually a track day sound fun…
i’ve gone twice at night and there is more than enough parking and nice light for good pictures… im also thinking a beach thing… behind LAX there is a beach with plenty of parking and its 7$ for parking… i have taken pictures there before and they do come out pretty nice…

we can bbq and go to the water…

Dockweiler, a.k.a. “shit pipe.”

wait, we’re talking about going to the track to drive right? not to sit around & take pictures…
G2IC meets are the only way to go  DA > all others
Um… don’t see what was so “special” about this meet in the picture.

Leo’s meets might be ricey, but at least all the DA’s @ the Santiago Park meet aren’t stock heighty

Personally, I think it looks like the Key’s / Sierra Acura used car lot circa 04’ LOL.

First off, thanks Tino or organizing and setting up this meet. You stepped up to the plate when nobody else dude. Remember what I told you. Game recognize game (which is why I parked my DA in the back) Who needs to see a stock GSR thats dumped. LOL.

Secondly, I think where people have this whole thing twisted was the expectation of the event. That miscommunication lies within the title “EF Vs. DA”. Really? I don’t think so. We draggin’? Boxin’? Battle rappin’? Not so much. It was a basically a meet plain and simple for EF’s and DA’s. It was a visual forum and outlet for people with a common bond to pay homage to the EF/DA chassis. A place where enthusiasts can congregate & ogle over the beloved EF/DA chassis. I’m pretty certain Tino didn’t organize this with malicious intent or to invite the weakest EF’s or DA’s (with misaligned fenders, body waves, mismatched paint, steelies) or anything of that nature. Who does that?! Keep in mind that people will show up and people will rock what they think is dope on their car. Style, flavor & taste is subjective. For instance, I personally like slim chicks, some dudes like thick ones. Nothing wrong with that, just what you’re into. Some people actually think a SSR Superfin is the most over rated ugly wheel in history. Some people think Rotas are a godsend…I think you get my drift.

Anyway, good meet. Had some undesirables, but I’d definitely rock it again!:rockon:

WOW… someone caught on what i was saying… thank you… all this OG thing is dumb… thanks for putting in the words that i couldnt…
but to me over all the meet was good… maybe the weather changed the outcome or perspective of it all but there were nice cars… but a raffle would really of helped but this place are where big things begin.

The fact that its all DA’s is the point, and what G2IC meets are about. Everybody knew everybody, not like that your meet where everyone was in their own little group. I felt there should have been more interaction with other members. I didnt see any before I left.

The pic is from 02 I believe and almost all the cars are lowered. I know you kids today think 2" off the ground is the coolest thing eVAr and any higher than that is considered stock.

And everyone understands that just because you like something doesn’t mean the next guy will, and thats fine, but you have to be open to criticism, whether it be good or bad. The people that have been here since 01 have a whole different outlook on how a built car should look, just as you guys have your ideas of a built car. Just like you said here:

So you rather have rice than stock? I rather have a stock car show up than a riced out one.

Its always going to be opinion based…always. Learn to accept it.

It takes no setting up, just people who are willing. This stuff actually used to happen with members on the board. We had a good group of socalers who would hit the track together. A handful of them are in that picture vern posted.

Once you do a track day you’ll realize that the fun you get from your $195 track day cost is a LOT better spent than on the newest CF lip or taiwanese coilovers which look like should cost $2k but are crap. Doing a track day, or better yet, some form of racing will change your life and your opinion about a lot of stuff. It’ll give you some perspective and more than likely change your priorities around.

I’d love to see more DA’s at the track. That’s one reason why I didn’t like the shit talking on that dark green rhd DA. Yeah, it’s rhd, and that I think is dumb and pointless, but that guy has been on the track with that car. I wasn’t at the meet but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the ONLY car that that has been on a race track (real racing, not drag).

If I ever get my project finished I’ll be out there ASAP and would love to see some other members out there too - hell, just come out and watch, get some rides…

Make no mistake Preston. I’m not some kid that just got into the game.:umno: It’s a degree about how much people appreciate the DA chassis. You like to keep your cars stock height or lowered 1.5", that’s fine. Don’t come to a meet. Go to a dealership. Plenty of stock cars there.

You want to know what Myself, Tino are all about? Read this

If you weren’t DUMPED. I’m talking about slammed, not lowered and barely legal now or back in the day, you just lost your clout and seem like some sort of older DA elitist-my-meets-were-cooler-than-yours back in the day.

What IS certain is that we are ALL enthusiasts, ricey or not. Do I appreciate rice? Absolutely not. Do I appreciate clean tasteful mods, absolutely. Would I be in a group pic with a ricer? Hell no

Bottom line is it’s a meet, you never know what will happen and who will show up. I guess I go for the comradarie and that 5% chance I’ll see some sick ass cars which I did. I saw probably 7 cars EF’s and DA’s that were picture worthy to me. That’s why I go.

Besides, I might score a Mugen teardrop exhaust from some unsuspecting ricer who doesn’t know what they have

that was probably the dumbest saying in this whole thread!!!
I saw probably 7 cars EF’s and DA’s that were picture worthy to me. That’s why I go.

;)
exactly, about 7 DA’s and EF’s out of around 50+ cars at a thread titled “EF vs. DA” meet…i was expecting some contenders…instead there was a car in this corner and a nice one “over there”…that’s why i left disappointed.

Definitely no crown holders for sure.

The burgers were tasty though

I think the air and the ash killed it for me.

Besides that, it made me feel good about my car. It wasn’t the stockest, ugliest or dirtiest LOL

JDMBeef, I hear ya. I remember around 94-95 when you heated/cut coils and rolled your fenders with a baseball bat so you could tuck. Dont get me wrong, you stated exactly what we have been trying to say since the beginning…

And this is why I went to this meet after 3 years of not going to one. All the amazing cars that were “supposed” to be there, ended up being just the 7 or so that you speak of. That was the disappointment. And maybe a lot of cars showed up after I left. I was in and out within 30 mins at the beginning before the lights even came on.

No biggie though. It really isn’t all about the cars anymore for me, but rather hanging out with all my friends who I met through these meets.

ibtl!

OMG!! Basebat!

Okay okay…you get it

Haven’t heard that in a WHILE!!!

i got there late… i got there at 7p.m… and there were alot of cars…

all ive been trying to say is that everyone has their own taste and who ever showed up was to support the DA’s… think about it if the 7 cars that everyone liked were the only cars to show up… that would of been a pretty pathetic meet dont you think… and like i said maybe yes 5 or 7 years ago the meets were way nicer. that may be so but also these cars are now up to 18 years old and 5 years ago their were younger cars… these cars have taken hits and won battles. and everyone knows to find a nice chassis is hard… so some will have hits and dents maybe bondle… otheres different panels but only because its part of putting it back together… and i go back to you OLD people that had to heat up the coils, and use a bat… WOW for you guys you OLD guys are pioneers… but now we have faster ways of doing things and thats not our fault. that you guys didnt have the tech. to do so… all the teg tips… yeah thanks it has help me alot… but well if it wasnt on here that i found an answer im sure to have found it somewhere else…

the OG shit… and we are only guest here… yeah right… we are as much of a guest as you are…

Hey hey…HEY!!

Easy on the “old” comment. My heart can’t take much more

wow!!! remind me to never hook you up dude…

nobody is asking you to “thank” them but at the same time you write so ungrateful comments.

no need to beat a dead horse dude…we’re over it…stop replying please.

lol
