I found this out the other day, on the driver side set on the left side under the upholstry was a switch (one like the power buttons for the old ps2’s) and i figured that was if you were to switch it then when you mess with the seat it goes back to normal. Well i was sitting at my local skate park with my car running and i had just wanted to test it so i messed with the seat then switched it and the car died. So i tried to start it and it wouldnt start, only crank. And the check engine light stays on and never goes off. So i flicked it back and it started right away. So i was wondering if that was a standard thing or if the person who owned it before me added it. I also have a button start.
thats an add on kill switch and if i was you i wouldn’t describe how to bypass it on the internet. you might wanna go back and edit your post, just my .02
I whole heartedly agree. Edit your post.
:werd:
So what color is your car again? lol
i found a weird thing under the driver side panel too. its a box shape that has a switch to turn. the box looks like a charger and it says " Anti- shock" on it. the switch or dial says the increments of seconds. i think its for adjustment. also when every time i try to touch or tap the box, the led on it lights in red:sick: … weird
That would be the shock sensor for your alarm, and the dial increases the sensitivity.
:wtf:
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the kill switch isn’t going to do anyone that’s trying to steal his car any good, they would be trying to start the car, not kill the motor…
that is true, but if someone knows that he has a kill switch it would defeat the purpose of having one.lol
I wonder how they wired it in? Anyone care to elaborate? Shouldn’t be too hard, but I’d like to add one somewhere in the car.
do a search on here for fuel pump cutoff/kill switch. You basically splice a switch inline with the fuel pump power wire.
You can also do one on the clutch engagement sensor wire (if you have a manual trans). So the computer won’t see the clutch engaged and you can’t start the car (could probably roll start it though).
I thought of the fuel pump switch myself, just wondering different ways you could kill the motor without it being an obvious wire under the dash.
well you can do it anywhere that wire is at. From where it starts at, to along the driver side under the carpet, to where it ends at the fuel pump. Get clever.
Well he obviously wasn’t using it anyway.
does that wire run under the carpet to the rear seat? If so I think I have a good place to put the cutoff switch since I’ll have the carpet out next week.
i just put a switch on the yellow wire. that goes in the fuel pump. dont pu it on the black wire because when the black wire is cutoff the pump can still work.
I was just about to ask what color the wire is cause I’m currently building up a Da shell. I could use this time to wire one in.
it’s yellow/back wire. make sure that that wire is leading to the fuel pump. in our cars, there are some wires that have the same color so make sure its going to the fuel pump.
the fuel pump is in the tank right, but what is the thing that sits under the rear seats? Is that the wiring to it?
the fuel pump is in the center. the fuel pump is helld in place, i believe, by 3 bolts
