Some videos of my car on the dyno

So, I decided to post, in order, all the videos I have of my car on the dyno. Kind of a time line of my car’s evolution in terms of power plants.

So, let’s begin, shall we.

Here we are, in August of 2008, at the Fall Honda Meet I put together in Fredericksburg, VA.
This was with the LS which had just an intake, Crower 402 cams, and Greddy SP2 exhaust system.

Best overall pull was 123whp and 114ft lbs of torque.

Now, for a tired, old LS with well over 200,000 miles on it, that’s not bad.

A few motor plans came and went, but I ended up settling on a JDM B18C swap (SIR-G Spec, with the LSD trans)
So, let’s fast forward to 2011, I swapped in the B18C and had fun with it, being mostly stock, just the basic I/H/E combo. A few months ago, since I knew I was going to be building the head, I decided to get a baseline of the motor as it was, so off to CNC Engine Dynamics for some glory pulls.

Here we go.

In this stock, bolt-on equipped form, I laid down a respectable 151whp and 113ft lbs trq
Not too bad, if I might say so, myself.

Now, let’s get down to the good stuff. Let’s jump ahead to last weekend.
I installed a set of JDM ITR cams and valve springs, as well as a first gen Skunk2 Intake Manifold (kind of converting the head to Type-R specs, but still utilizing the P72 GS-R head). So, I went in this past Wednesday for a tuning session with Chris Miller @ CNC Engine Dynamics.

Here’s what we came up with.

Now, I have to say, that my phone’s battery died after the third pull, but there were about 8-10 pulls in total, that ended up with a final number of 171whp and 128ft lbs of torque

So, to recap. With those numbers, that puts me at a 20whp and 15ft lbs of torque improvement over the stock B18C specs, and nearly a 50whp improvement over the LS when it was dyno’d in 2008.

I’d like to think I’ve got a fun little motor here

As always, opinions welcomed. Thanks for reading and watching

I was in the 3rd video taking a pic!!! lol. Your car has come a long way…I vote turbo for the next upgrade.

I may try to make the ECHM, but it depends on whether or not I can make it away from Ft. Knox. Geez, I can’t wait to be back in VA.

Thanks, Brandon. No boost in this blu guy’s future, though. I’m an “NA all the way” kind of guy

NA all the way. I love it when people running the same motor has to spit nos, or boost there shit, just to blow there shit up trying to keep with you…lol
