a weird thing happend today … my car died (been having distributor problems) so the first thing i do is take off my dist. cap and theres just oil every where… now is this weird or what? what could be the cause of it? i get my new distributor tomarow so i just want to know what i should do to keep this from happening to my new one. please reply… give me answers please, or suggestions… thanx…

The new distributer will have new seals in it. just make sure to install a new oring seal on the outside of the distributers input shaft. Orings only last a few years under normal operating conditions. In the aviation industry orings are only good for 5-10 years from the date of production. The part you buy from Acura / Honda may be new to you , but who knows how long the part was on the shelf. A good rule of thumb is replace orings or rubber seals every 5 -7 years.
hey i can not get my car started anymore… what is wrong??? before i took out my distributor, i would atleast get it to crank a lil, but now, theres no crank watsoever… help me please… any suggestions are great… i’m desperate to get it running.
