I found a guy selling a rubicon 702 soundstream amp. I don’t know a lot about them but I’ve been looking for a good amp to replace my crunch amp  . Well for some specs on the amp: it is 150x2 at 4 ohms and 350x2 at 2 ohms and is supposedly stable to 1 ohm although I don’t think I’d ever run it like that. My subs are eclipse 10’s and they are 8 ohms. They are rated at 150x2 RMS and 300x2 max.
I’m kind of confused when it comes to the different configurations for example bridging and etc. I’d really just like to know if this is a decent amp and how (if it’s powerful enough) I should hook it up to my 10’s. Thanks in advance.
BTW, I found out that the amp retails for around $430 and the guy is selling it used for $250. He says his friend had it hooked up to two rockford 12’s and it hit pretty hard.
Soundstream amps are really well built. They can handle the one ohm load with no problems. To get the most out of your amp and sub combo assuming your gonna buy the amp, wire the subs in parallel to achieve a four ohm load with your amp set to bridged mono. I ran a 500sx in my car just for the front components but also tested it out down to a 1ohm mono load 3/4 volume for about 20mins or so…it did it without a hiccup.
Thanks for the replies fellas. He knocked $20 off the price and he’s down to $230 now. I’m really tempted to get it but I just want to be sure it will power my subs and I know how to hook them up. Also, if I get another sub(3 total all 8 ohm) could I wire them in parallel and get a 2.66 ohm load? Would there still be enough power there to power 3 or should I stick to the 2? I guess I’m still unclear on how exactly you hook everything up. I’ve just always wired my subs up with one channel for each sub(in series?) so doing a parallel wiring job is kinda new still. TIA.
Yes you could get another 8ohm sub and wire them all in parallel to achieve the 2.66 ohm load. The amp if i remember rite puts out 700wx1 at 2ohm mono load, but these amps are also underrated. I say your good to go with 3 10’s. You will be feeding each sub over 200wrms a piece which is pretty decent. What were the rms specs on your last amp? and how did you have them hooked up? this amp will definitly outperform your crunch amp.
