What kind should we use
i got bosch!
they any good
I rather change cheap plugs more often, then spend on expensive ones and change less often.
NGK or Bosch are good.
Plugs aren’t too expensive to change anyways…once a year is how often I do it…I like to stick with NGK plugs…
I got the Bosch Platinum 4 tip. I like them.
i wouldn’t get platinum plugs. brings kv way down, and coilcan’t recover as fast.

What do you mean?
i had a big study in school (auto tech school) about platinum plugs. when it came down to it unless your car is meant to have platinum plugs they actually hurt your performance. we did the test on two diff. cars on the dyno with oscilloscopes and each car lost performance. the reason is because platinum plugs are easier to jump so it takes less kv to jump the gap of the plug creating a smaller spark. so instead of a 14-18 kv spark we had 7-12 kv and the 5 gas reading started to show that the efficiency also went down. also on a worse note the snap kv test which is a similated sudden W.ide O.pen T.hrottle test the coil couldn’t handle the extra sudden need of spark b/c it was used to hangin aorund down at 7kv-12kv , it gave both the cars a tip in hesitation. all the coil knows is that its supposed to jump the gap of the spark plug. if the path is easy (platinum) its not going to create a large spark b/c the gap is easy to jump. any q’s just ask i’ve fixed cars with a hesitation problem solely b/c they heard that platinum plugs were good.
Well I’ll be damned. I guess next tune up I’ll go back to NGK V Groove. Or some Denso Iridiums. Thanx for the info. :read:
dattegbol : That was an interesting study you guys did. I am actually running on Bosch Platinum 4s right now, have been for about 2K miles. And coincidentally, my car does suffer from some hesitation during idle.
Could you elaborate on the type of symptoms you guys found in your study cases, just to see if this could be my prob too?
thanks

damn good study! i always thought that the platinum plugs would do that, but i wasnt exactly sure how the coil worked.
what’s your take on mulit pronged plugs? split fires and bosch +4? i figure that the spark only travels in one direction, the shortest path right? so having extra progs is usless.
i think i have split groove ngk’s in my car but it shouldn’t make a diff. how many grooves are in it , it just knows to jump the gap to ground. i index my plugs also when i put them in.
