speaker question...

Hey people!!! My driverside speakers are very quiet, but my rear left speakers works fine. How come? My right side works fine also… what’s the problem? Anyone else had this problem before…

wire loose or just a blown speaker. my left side shelf speaker is the same. i just rewired it to the speakers on the trunk cover. speakers were on there when i brought the car.

my speakers are brand new. it’s only my driverside mids and highs…

Try poping the speakers at the head unit.

To do this, tap into the wire going to those speakers, strip it back a bit and tap it onto a small battery. You should hear a pop if the wires are OK. If you don’t, the wire’s broken some where or your speaker’s defective.

Can you wire a speaker the wrong way? I mean positive to negative and visa-versa? I know the direction of the current is always changing anyway so would it matter where the red wire goes and where the black/white wire goes? I’m just wondering cus my friends car has different color wires on all four speakers and we don’t want to rewire the whole system…thanx

What radio are you using?
If it is the factory, the analog pots get dirty or worn out and channels will go in and out. I have also noticed alot of solder joint problems inside the radio.

Try a cleaner from Radio Shack on the volume knob. If that doesn’t work take the radio apart and check the solder joints for the radio connector and at the internal amp.

Integra Style:
Proper polarity is essential when wiring new speakers. If the pos and neg is backwards then the speaker moves out phase and will cancel with speakers that are in phase. The result will be a lack of bass and will hollow or tinny.
