Speedometer Issue (VIDEO INCLUDED)

I’ve been having this problem for a while. First I noticed the 10 mm bolt was missing on the vss gear. I removed the gear, checked it out and reinstalled it with the new bolt. I also replaced the cable and cleaned and regreased it. I triple checked the connections on the the trans and cluster. I also took the cluster apart and inspected the gauge. Heres the video of when it first started acting up.

Fixed video. Temp gauge was due to faulty negative cable.

that’s pretty funny somehow hahaha. did you put enough grease in it? i’d redo that cable. if not, get another cable.

actually, the cable shouldn’t be doing that much. maybe you need a new vss.

the vss is mechanical and shouldn’t effect the Speedo like that, you a em to have a faulty Speedo and it maybe time to replace it.
you have the option of swapping a complete cluster in or get a spare cluster and swap out the Speedo only.
it’s really easy it’s bolted by 3 bolts and the entire Speedo with face and needle comes off.
take out the old and drop the new in. you will loose your miles though, and use the new Speedo miles.
same process goes for the other guages if they break. unscrew the bolts and swap the unit.

I rebuilt the vss today thinking that was the problem but the issue is still there. I ruled the cluster out because my odometer is still working but that will be the next thing on the list.

Any one have a cluster for sale???
