im new to this forum, and first off i just wanted to say hi to every body. Im relativly new to the import world, and i have a few mods on my car, i plan on getting a new motor and i plan to put a turbo on it. I just wanted to know what are the specs for a 1.8spoon engine? and about how much would one cost with a tranny and computer? im asking around cause i have been offered one for $1800 and it has roughly 10k miles on it. and i just want to learn more about them. thanks in advanced for any help
sounds like a case of fast and the furious.
1800 will not buy a spoon engine, that guy is lying. and you shouldn’t want to turbo a spoon engine anyway.
keep reading and searching, the info is out there!
jeff
try around 10 grand for a spoon engine sonny.
why wouldnt i want to put a turbo on a spoon motor? and what kind of power does a stock one have?
11:3 minimum compression for a Spoon motor…that and Turbo should be interesting…
(trust me)
The fellas are right on as far as pricing is concerened and if your as serious as your talking then start researching because you just offered up one hell of an expensive barn fire!
J.
what do they put out for horse power and torque?
you’re really persistant about getting the #s, huh? i think you would be pretty disapointed, though…
spoon builds motors of different sizes and states of tune. pretty much they’re just blueprinted R motors, which honda blueprints anyway. the tolerances are just slightly tighter, that’s all. so power is the same as a stock R motor. they have other configurations with high-comp pistons, and stroker motors, and those will make more power, but they’re nothing spectacular, and you could build something similar yourself for half the price.
like i said before, the info is on the web, you just have to look harder for it.
jeff
thanks for the info. and that motor i was ofered was a 1.8 VTEC with JDM internals, i think i didnt trust the guy that was selling it any way cause hes known for being shady, but thanks any way
