Spring rate for GC/Tokico setup

I’m going to be ordering a GC/Tokico setup. The car is going to be mostly daily driver but Auto X is a definite next summer and spirited driving is going to happen. No question about that lol. Would 8k in the front and 10k be ok or is that waaayy to stiff? I have a, for the most part pretty stock B18A1 motor. What sorta spring rate should I be looking at? Is there anything I should expect (other than a stiffer ride quality) or keep my eyes open on?

Tokico Blues or Whites? What anti roll bars on front/back?

For street use, those rates will probably be stiff, but livable. This is assuming that you’re using Tokico Whites - Blues might not be able to handle those rates well.

As far as autocross, they should be ok rates for the first few times you go. As you get more experience and become a faster driver , you might have trouble getting the car to rotate well on an autocross course, depending on what bars you’re using.

Yes, my bad, I didn’t mention which Toks. Illuminas. I went with a 500/450 spring rate. I called Tokico while my buddy at Lordco called GC and they said that which I chose is a bit stiffer than street use but very good for the track. Later on I can adjust or what-not. I need a rear sway bar, endlinks and poly bushings, but I ordered a rear camber kit from Skunk2, and a subframe brace and frnt and rear strut bars.

Why didn’t you opt for Koni Yellows?

I ran 10k/8k on my Illuminas for years and it was a good combo. Stiff but not too stiff - but obviously that’s all subjective. Personally I prefer my daily drivers to be much more comfy, but that’s now, 10yrs ago when I had that setup I didn’t mind a stiff daily. With those spring rates you’re approaching the limit of those shocks, but you should be fine.
