I have 500lb in the front and 400lb in the rear on my pro1 coilovers
using bilsteins all round my car is sooooo stiff and at 60MPH when i weve left and right the rear lags and follows after the front
so in effect the car twists, it’s dangerous
I am trying some softer springs in the rear sometime this week
Well, I’m not saying you have to trust me, but I would suggest against taking your mechanics word. They usually don’t know much about vehicle dynamics.
If you have a a really thick rear sway and no front sway (or a small one) you may get more than usual “twisting”. I’ve never heard of such a problem on a unibody Honda.
the place that recommended this has been involved with hondas for many years, raced them and builds drag cars
yeh I have front and rear strut braces, nolthane bushings in rear
shocks are bilsteins all round, the fronts are shortend bodied DC2R spec
and rear is DC2 spec
I had to modify front forks to fit em
the car handles well at slow speed but once over 60MPH the body twists
the car is VERY VERY stiff, too stiff maybe twisting the chassis
I am gonna try to raise the back up 10mm and see if it helps it at all, taking some load of suspension. then i will put the 200lb springs in that he lent me
Well try the softer springs, and if it reduces what you’re talking about, tell your mechanic that I’m sorry.
I asked about your alignment, because a “rotation-prone” alignment can make the car try to rotate with quick steering input. I see that with Azenis on my car.
Saves money and you know it’s getting done right. Computerized (but not particuarly laser) alignments are total GARBAGE!!!
Use the factory settings (available in any Service Manual) as a reference and go from there. You might be able to track down your problem through trial and error w/ different settings.
