Everytime I steer to the right slowly, it squeeks but it wont squeek as bad when I steered fast. I noticed the problem soon after I drove the car home from the mechanic which I had a new ball joint installed on the right passenger side.
I hope its not relating to the ball joint which there is no noise coming from there. The squeeks comes directly from the steering wheel when I press my ears to it. Could the new ball joint be too tight and needs lubrication or something? or should I try to take out the steering wheel? I dont know how to do this, does anyone know a DIY steering wheel uninstalled guide or know if I can fix this problem?
I checked my steering fluid and it is toped up and no leak that I could find anywhere. Do I try to flush the power steering fluid and add new ones? How do you go about doing that?
Thanks for the input and help guys, keep it coming.
sry for thread jacking… but i need help too, but my car with this happening… squeaks once a while when i steer slowly and hard… and my fluid is always low everytime i add more, but it stays at the same spot never dropping any lower… don’t know where to check for leaks at…
That happened to me once - i added ps fluid and it got rid of the noise - i didnt think it would fix it though but it did. It’s a strange noise to hear I know what you’re talking about.
