stage2 clutch and flywheel

i just installed a stage 2 act clutch and streetlite flywheel 12.5 pounds. When i down shift the car will shake when i let the clutch out, but if i give it a little rev before i let it out it doesnt do it. has anybody ever done a clutch and lightened flywheel and experienced that? I can feel a huge difference after the new clutch and flywheel broke in. Its feels like it pulls so much harder.

i didnt notice anything like that with mine. make sure all the bolts are torqued to spec?

one thing i did notice, if im trying to upshift, and my rpm is too low, the car shudders a little. i have the act 8.8lb flywheel.

thats what i mean it shutters a little. everything to torque, definitely!!! How do you like the 8.8 pounder, how does your car idle, how does it pull

idle isnt bad at all. i love the power it freed up. definitely worth 250. rpms climb really fast. ive just learned that you have to keep the revs up a lil. both of my friends that have driven it stalled it :stuck_out_tongue:

a few of my friends have the 8.8 in there cars and in reverse chatters a little
…but i think when you downshift your best bet is to rev match …which pressure plate did you get i have the heavy duty and street disc and i love it …my pedal feels harder than my friends itr with an xtreme …once my motor is done though im prob goin to upgrade to the xtreme …

I believe the problem you’re having is normal. By the way which clutch are you running? Usually puck type clutches tends to do that with the improved grip. I agree with JDM2ndgen advice to rev match when down shifting.

As far as the lightened flywheel, I have tested out the ITR 13.x lbs, Jun 10 lbs, ACT 8.8 lbs, Spoon 9.2 lbs flywheel before. The ITR flywheel is great compared to stock flywheel but it seriously feels like a pig when compared to the other 3. I love the response from the engine with the 10lbs or lighter flywheel and between the 3 lightened flywheel they’re pretty hard to tell the difference from. Getting to vtec crossover and redline is so much faster.
