i own a 92 integra gs and i just recently started having problems with it stalling, it happens at any time. if i take my foot off the gas it may stall. also sometimes having problems starting but not often, and at idles eraticly, it did not do that b4 the problems with it stalling, plz help i just bought the car 2 months ago.
Do a fuel pressure test at the fuel rail to see what kind of pressure your pump is putting out.
how do i test that. i guess this would be a good time to hook up my fuel pressure gauge
Erm… Yes it would be. Sounds like a fuel problem to me. But usually if the pump is going bad… it just stops working all at once, not really off and on’ish.
So the intermittent part is odd… Have you done any recent wiring in your car? Or remove the back seats etc? Could be a connectivity problem to the pump.
no i have not done anything to the car yet, all the aftermarket stuff was already done wen i bought it. im still pretty knew to the car world. wish the guy would have finished hooking up the gauge cluster though, that would have saved some time. my friend mentioned the alternator might b the problem any thoughts on that. thanx

does your battery light on the cluster ever come on while driving?
no i have never needed to jump it, and the battery light has never came on
okay i think i figured out the problem i checked some old threads and found a guy with the exact same problem. it was the distributor cap, i checked mine and it had some erosian an had a piece missing, i went and got a new one put it on my car sounded good at first until i tried to drive it, i had almost no throttle responce and it died three blocks from my apt. would not restart. i pushed it home. i think the distributor rotor got turned and is off time, HOW DO I GET BACK ON TIME. PLZ HELP
The distributor rotor can only be installed one way…
but it is not in the rite position how do i get it in the rite position
dude, it’s got a flat spot. it can physically only go on one way
unless it got hot and melted and spun out of phase. which actually happened to me before
ok ur right it does only go one way i have no idea wat is wrong with this car
Is the car lowered? If so,my brother was having the same shit happening to him. If he hit bumps and took a sharp turn,it stalled out. It happened to be his gas tank. What happen was he had hit the tank right where the pump is, and pushed it up so the gas wasn’t getting to it at times. He was able to pop out the dent by taking the back seat out and removing the float.
all that has been done to the suspenion is a tein basic coil over kit, im not sure how low integra’s r stock but mines pretty low, the kit had already been instaled wen i bought the car. i found problems with the distributor cap wen i removed it, so i replaced it, but before i replaced it my car had never backfired. so maybe im hooking the spark plug wires wrong but i looked in my haystings manuel and fallowed wat it said, im really kinda lost.
thank you i thought the spark plug wires hooked up the oppisite way in my manuel it didnt have numbers on it for the distributor.i hope thats the only problem
