Starter Bolts won't line up 92 Integra LS

92 Integra ls . Went to change the starter and found lower bolt hanging in bolt hole, not even torqued down. Swapped starter that was in it with 93 integra. The upper flange will not align properly with bottom bolt fully in. I am also making sure that the starter face is inserted and flush with transmission. Bolt is nearly 1/8 off. I drilled out the flange a bit. Still no go. I put the bottom bolt in only fully torqued down. Nope seems to be misaligned. Catches sometimes, misses mostly. Tried top bolt only and it seems “out” from the face at the bottom. Cannot engage the bottom threads, sans why whom ever had this before me left this “hanging” in the bottom bolt hole.

Any difference between 92 and 93 Integra starters that anyone knows of?

I’ll run out and see if I can get a pix of this.

Has the transmission been swapped? There are dowels that stick out of the block to align the transmission. If you have the correct YS1 transmission on a B18a block it should line up with no problems. I’m betting you have either a swapped block or transmission.

Yeah so I took the starter back out and compared it to my old one. I discovered there was a square “key” in the nose housing, where mine did not have this. Using the Googles I found that this is a 1994-2001 Starter. Anyone need a starter for a G3teg?
