omfg are you that blind to see that the valve cover isnt one youd see on a vtec head. the head it shows you already. just cause they say its vtec doesnt mean it is they are just trying to make money. have you tried searching other peoples b20b with vtec? youll see the have different valve covers and why would the horsepower and tq be the same still if it does have vtec? remember horsepower for b20b is 126 and tq 133. do your search id know of these engine because my friend swaps them into peoples cars at his shop.
and still no a b20bvtec with minor bolt ons cant take a type r. youd need to build it a little id know. because ive seen type rs here taking egs with b20b vtec. and i seen one g2 out here fully built stage 3 cams stage 3 port and built block and everything beating type rs, evos, v8s etc. but stock it cant.
Easy, people. Everybody has to start somewhere. We were all newbies once so ease up. 90-JDM-integra found information that said the B20B had VTEC, at least s/he didn’t just assume it did.

90-JDM-integra there isnt vtec on the b20b that your probably going to buy from that shop. the shop said it does, but it doesnt have it. i talked to my homeboy and showed him the site he said there is no way that its vtec especially since the horsepower and torque are still the same when having a non vtec b20b. if you still think there is vtec on it, thats up to you. but im telling you from seeing it its doesnt. dont be fooled by shops saying it has vtec when it really doesnt. because shops out here to are selling engines that are supposedly “GSR” when it really aint. they try to have customers buy things from them that don’t know nothing about the engines.
also with what your saying about a b20b beating a b18c, yes its possible ONLY if it is built. even if it has the vtec head on it with the b20b it still cant take the b18c. because out here hatches are still getting taken by ones with a b18c. only way is with a built b20b. hope this settles it for you.

when i had an civic si before i didnt know jack squat about anything even engines, but now i did hella research for most hondas i learned alot. so if you dont want to take advice from someone who knows these engines and shop jipping people its cool. aint no big deal to me

b20b swaps do not include VTEC without them being modified.
90-JDM-integra- i want to explain something to you. When you are new, and clueless, the best way to learn is to READ. not write. please take that into consideration next time you visit. trust me, it’ll be better for everyone on this forum including yourself.
Dosen’t VTEC kick in at ~5k rpms? Well this engine is making peak power at 5400 rpms, that alone tells you its not a VTEC engine, not to mention the fact that its only making 126 hp, hate to side with folks but there is no way in hell that block that you linked to has VTEC
