I just found this site and all of a sudden I need a diagnosis. I have lost power to my “Starter Signal” fuse. The car will not start by using the key. I have plugged in a wire into this fuse spot and crossing over to a hot fuse to start the car. Is there a starting place I should look before I pull the fuse box to see if the wire is broken on the back side of the fuse box? Anyone else seen this problem???
First thing that comes to mind is your ignition switch being faulty. But then again, my symptom was that my car would crank when I turned the key, the engine would turn over, but as soon as I released the key, the engine would die. I’m not sure if your symptom relates to the switch though. Does anything at all happen when you turn the key?
All of the dash lights come on like there suppose to when I try and start it but it will not crank. I have plugged a wire into the “starter signal” fuse holder spot and I cross that wire over to a “hot” fuse and the engine cranks and starts. When I do this procedure I have the key in the “on” position.
I guess I’ll buy a manual and start tracing wires. I might go the easier route and buy a aux. push button switch.
