I recently bought another DA because I missed my old one. Anyway, I got the car for 600.00 not running, the guy before me changed the fuel pump, PGMFI relay (from a junkyard), and fuse block. Unfortunately he hacked the wires going to the pump, and the relay. I soldered all the wires and removed the dash to check out the wiring. He removed all the wires and it looked like a bowel of spaghetti. Unbeknownst to myself, some how I blew the back up fuse (7.5 back-up underhood fuse). I went to try the car and it started right up. Tried to test drive it and the seat belt didn’t come back. I replaced the fuse and went to drive the car and it wouldn’t start. I finally put 2+2 together and removed the fuse again and it started up again. I changed out the module for the seatbelts and it’s the same shit, anyone have any idea as to what and or where the issue is?:bang:
It is most likely a wiring issue, the 7.5A “back up” fuse is memory, [or should be] for the radio and the ECU/ECM, it is not needed for engine to run, why engine does not run when it is installed I do not know but I would assume it has to do with wiring. 94
Well I have been meaning to update this post for a while but haven’t gotten around to it till now. Turns out my ECM was the problem. I ordered one on ebay with a Dinan chip and popped it in the car and it hasn’t given me any issues as of yet. I noticed it hesitates when you punch it and it hits 5k rpm’s but I think it is the block. Time for a rebuild. As of now the only problems with the car is rust, and the windshield. Both problems are causing leaks. Also noticed it has some serious grounding issues. Affecting the radiator and passenger side window. Mad props to FCM for being the only dude to post. Lol. Thanks.
