I have a 1992 GS and I have been having this problem lately where the engine will not start up on very hot days. What happens is, the first time I start the car it starts up and runs fine, but if when I try to start it up for the second time when I have to drive back to my house it won’t start up. It will start up and not hold an idle position, it just loses it. Then when try to start it up again it just turnsover and won’t catch. I usually have to wait for the car to cool down as well as the temperature outside to cool down as well. I have heard this problem is somewhat common in early 1990’s Honda cars. If anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it please tell me becuase summer is right around the corner!!
When was the last time you changed your spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor?? That could have a lot to do with your problem.

Try the main fuel relay. It’s about $50 and apparently is quite vulnerable to heat. Mine is on its way.
Mine used to do the same thing in the cold. I drove somewere, turned it off, came back 5 min, started it, the RPMS would to real low and it would stall, then NOT start again UNTIL I took the key COMPLETELY out, and put it back in, then it worked fine.

Igniter?
Sounds like a problem this Acura tech described in another thread yesterday… sorry, can’t remember what the thread was called.
I think “twin54” was the name - you could search for twin.
But his dad is a Acura Tech and described a problem that sounds just like what’s happening to you… He said that if the igniter is bad it will overheat and the car will not start until the igniter cools down in like an hour or so…
Just my .02 but I don’t know j@ck myself…

same thing here… anyone knows a cure?
same thing here too, but it happens sometimes when i start the car for the first time…
Not too bad though… about one time in 40 starts
Tonight was worse than other times… The car started fine, but died after 1-2 seconds. I even tried giving it some gas, but it also died. I waited like 15-20 minutes, came back and it started fine like nothing happened. (only thing I did was open up the gas tank to relieve the pressure, could this be related?)
anyone got an idea of the problem? clogged fuel fliter?
