Steering column is POPin, any advice?

Alright lasies and gents I am currently having a popping issue. It happens randomly but constant enough to start getting me worried. Every last part of the suspension is torqued and tight and the tie rods are solid and bearing have no issues. My question is what exactly could cause my suspension to cause my steering wheel to POP. I’m wondering if it may be the ball joints but figure I would get some guidance before I start throwing parts at it. Thanks all.

anyone?

I don’t know where the popping is coming from, but I had the bolt come loose on the steering shaft and it popped when i turned. It was under the dash where the shaft connects to the steering rack itself, I put some loctite on and tightened it up. It also happened to another friends teg too. Just my .02 cents on a problem i had.

does it do it when you turn or any time?

It’s random, like today when I went to walmart it didn’t do it even once or lately at all but every so often it’ll do it when I’m stopped or at super slow rolls. Doesn’t really ever do it at any driving speeds that I have noticed.

Check your ball joints and inner tierod ends for play.

It could be your steering rack is starting to fail internally.
