i wanted to make a u-turn so i turned my steering wheel all the way to the left, when i had made it around, i tried to turn my wheel back to the right, but it wouldn’t go. so instead of making a 180, i ended up making a 270 degree turn because that’s when my wheel wasn’t locked anymore. i thought it had something to do with my axle since i had some problems with them before, but i checked them out and didn’t notice anything wrong. does anyone know what happened and how to fix it? thanks…
Only other thing makes you spill your beer is tierod ends or the lower balljoint jumped out.
Does it feel kind of like it’s “catching” on something? Or does it completely lock up. The reason I asked is because I experienced the same thing about a year ago. I was making a right turn and the steering wheel locked up momentarily. I kind of “shook” the steering wheel left and right real quick and it was fine. It felt like it was actually catching on something. Turns out, the problem was the bolt that connects the steering column to the rack and pinion. It right near the firewall inside the car. The bolt had backed out. I just tightened it and it was fine.
